Was the faith of the saints expressed throughout the whole world?

“First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:8-9

My wondering is if this is true.

Hebrews 8:11 And they will not need to teach their neighbors, nor will they need to teach their relatives, saying, ‘You should know the LORD.’ For everyone, from the least to the greatest, will know me already.

Does everyone already know the Lord, at least even just a little bit, heard of the LORD through the ‘grapevine’?

Hard to say. There could be parts of Africa that still haven't heard the word. But who really knows.

I think it means the whole world as defined by scripture in that day. It shows many by today's standards never heard the gospel throwing a huge wrench in Arminianism.
So not much much as what area's it has reached. But who it has reached it area's it has been?

If people are saved by accepting Jesus (free will), and most never heard of him and end up in hell, Arminianism has a huge problem with their view of god being fair.

May I ask where your stance is on that belief?

"Revelation Is Geographically General

Every place on earth receives revelation about God. The psalmist wrote.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge (Psalm 19:1,2).

Therefore general revelation is worldwide in scope. No one is ignorant of God's general revelation.

All Humans Experience General Revelation

Every human being receives general revelation. The apostle Paul said.

Yet he has not left himself without testimony: He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy (Acts 14:17).

There Are A Number Of Ways That God Has Revealed Himself To Everyone

According to Scripture, humanity receives general revelation in a number of ways. These include the following.

1. Unwritten Human Tradition Is A Means Of General Revelation

Human tradition is a means in which God has revealed Himself. The Bible says that God spoke to Adam and Eve. They, in turn, would have told others about the things God both said and did. As God revealed Himself to humanity at various times in the past these events would also have been told and retold by people with whom God spoke. The problem, of course, is that in the telling of these stories things get added and subtracted. Yet the basis of the story usually remains.

2. Nature, Or Creation, Testifies To God's Existence

The magnificence of creation testifies to God's existence. Everywhere we look we can find testimony of His great power and majesty. Creation demonstrates that God is the Creator, Designer, and Sustainer of all that exists.

3. God's Providence Is Experienced By Everyone

God has also revealed Himself to humanity through the gracious things that He has provided. The gifts of God's providence are for everyone, everywhere.

4. The Human Conscience Knows That God Exists

The human conscience tells us that God exists. There is something inside every one of us that testifies to the existence of God's existence. We all know that there is some power greater than ourselves that exists.

5. God's Dealings With The Nations Testifies To His Existence

Finally, the Bible also says that God has dealt with the nations of the world in a way that shows His existence. God as set forth examples in history that testify to His existence, power, and control over history.

Summary

General revelation reaches everyone, everywhere. The Bible speaks of five ways in which God has revealed Himself to all of humanity. These include: unwritten human tradition nature or creation, providence, the human conscience, and God's dealings with the nations. No one, therefore, is ignorant of God's existence." What Is General Revelation?

It's a problem I always had with Arminianism. Having people save themselves based on their response to a gospel, and then withholding that gospel from most.

I think General Revelation has that covered.

Oh so in other words. You have a hard time with the idea someone else's salvation depends on another person sharing it with them and that the person may never have it shared with them. Which their salvation would rely on?

It's not how salvation happens. But they claim it does and they shoot their own feet in the process.

If they accept that there is a God they are not held responsible for knowledge that they do not have, their acceptance of God is sufficient for their salvation

May I ask how you feel salvation does happen? According to the word anyway. I mean Jesus did have disciples and we were told to preach salvation to the world. As well as salvation is a choice one is to except and make.

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.” John 3:19–20 (KJV 1900)

Salvation only comes through Jesus though. Literally says he is the way the truth and the life. The cross and resurrection paved our way. And we are to know and to believe.

Well I agree with that scripture but it does not address those who have not received the Gospel and therefore have not rejected it. There were righteous people before there was a Gospel.
