Novice Webmaster tired of reinventing the wheel

Greetings,

I have a website I am trying to build a library for, I'm using Frontpage. My latest difficulty is I want to put a button for the email address so visitors can drop me an email. Frontpage said just put the email address in the link but it doesn't work. It's also tedious since one page is one chapter and I have some large books I want to put on there.

Does anyone have any advice for a novice webmaster that just wants to produce an online library?

Hmm, although this is just a guess without looking at the code, check how the email address was formatted. The code for your link should include mailto:email@address.com in the href variable of the link.

Not sure what you're asking, do you want to put a contact link on every page of your library? Please elaborate more on this library.

Frontpage should do this very easily. First insert the image into the page, then right click it and select "hyperlink" from the menu. On the left hand side, select "email" and enter the details. Easy as that. You should end up with text that looks something like this:

I advise that you move away from frontpage and learn either joomla, wordpress or drupal.

Yeah, FrontPage is so last century to be honest. Either use a CMS like the ones mentioned in the above post or learn PHP

Honestly, set up a Wordpress site and avoid frontpage! You'll make your life a whole lot easier!

I experimented with Seamonkey and eventually went with Kompozer. I have a wordpress blog and it's fine but I like the background I can use and tables for pics on one side and text on the other. Cooltext is providing buttons and titles so when I get the webpage bug again I won't have to reinvent the wheel.
