I've already experienced more beauty through my eyes, ears, and heart than most do in a lifetime. Seriously, I'm not sure why God thinks I'm deserving of all the beautiful things he's brought into my life.![]()

Dear LordI like bluegrass music.

Uummm Not so much....I'm not afraid of anything. Maybe if I lived during the Old Testament times, I'd be afraid of God's wrath. Since Christ came around, that fear isn't applicable.
Hahaha!!!!

Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Phillipians 2:12-13
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Hebrews 10:31
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Revelation 15:4
Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
I think that it is very clear even in the New Testament that we are to fear God and keep His commandments.![]()
Again, that is incorrect. There is one sin for which there is no forgiveness....I believe the term fear in the verses you posted has a different meaning from what we normally associate fear as being. I believe that fearing God means that we should have a deep reverance for his power and humble ourselves to his might. In that sense of the word, I do fear God. I also believe that there is no sin so great that Christ's sacrifice isn't able to keep a Christian from God's wrath. My complete faith in Christ's sacrifice and knowing that our God is just, keep me from fearing his wrath. Plus I believe that the punishment we receive for our sins is completely just. If a just God is in control of everything, we have nothing to fear, because whatever punishment we face, it is just.
We all go against God. Fearing God doesn't stop us from going against him (sinning). It's through his grace that in all of our wickedness, he promises us an eternal life of pure joy just for taking the free gift of salvation. Sure God could destroy me, the whole world, the whole universe if he wanted too, but I have a hard time "fearing" what is just.Again, that is incorrect. There is one sin for which there is no forgiveness....
Matthew 12:31-32
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
I do believe that fearing God also means to give him great respect for His power and His abilities. But, it also literally means to fear Him. He has the ability to completely destroy you. Yes, He is a just God, but that in itself is not enough reason to not fear. If you truly fear God, you are not going to go against Him. But if you do not fear... You will be more likely to go against Him and His punishment, while just, is not pretty.
That is true, we all sin. But, if we feared God in the way that we are supposed to it would make it a lot harder for us to sin. If you honestly don't fear God, perhaps your should hit your knees and the scripture a little harder. We all go against God. Fearing God doesn't stop us from going against him (sinning). I guess we have different views of God. I personally don't believe that God wants us to fear him the way you believe we should. I do fear one thing. Hell. I don't believe it is rational for me to fear hell, but the thought of eternal torture and seperation from a just God makes my guts turn. Let's put our differences aside now hun. We were obviously brought up differently with me being Lutheran and you being Baptist. That is true, we all sin. But, if we feared God in the way that we are supposed to it would make it a lot harder for us to sin.
