I've been doing some reading online at the request of one of my friends who happens to be wiccian....and after reading some of their creeds, it seems like if they truely follow them that they would be better people than some christians. It seems to me that they are less judgemental than we, the christians, who aren't supposed to be judgemental. I don't really know why but it seems like that even though according to us they have the wrong idea and stuff, but they seem to be the ones who came out better, i don't really understand why, but i dunno, just looking for some more input thanks...

MODS: if this is in the wrong place please move it. thanks:)

People are people.
Our standard is Jesus. Our faith is between us and him. It is not based on the people around us. Some things Christians do are inexcusable. Does that make Jesus null and void? No. If what other Christians do affects your faith in Jesus, you need to ask yourself who you actually believe in. Jesus, or people?

I agree with Kimber and Cheese. Stay away. I have a friend who is a Wiccan and trust me, it is nothing good. I'm not saying people who believe in Wicca are bad people. My Wiccan friend is one of the sweetest girls I know, but what she believes in is bad. I still respect what she believes in, but I wish she would come to Christ.

your right, but so many times the way people act gets in the way and influences people. for instance if i were a non-believer on this board i don't think i would want to be a christian the way that some people act. christian=christ like, when we give others the cold shoulder or judge them quickly then we are being the exact opposite of that and we're pushing people away from Christ...most of the wiccan's that i've talked to are very accepting of everyone, including me, even though i am a believer in the religion that puts them down the most.

does a book's value declines because its pages have become yellow due to the erosion of time?

there is nothing wrong with it, only that we, the caretakers have either become lazy or negligent. There are many good caretakers as well as bad ones, which cannot be avoided because we are human, and we are not totally immuned to sin.

Tsax, you are not a believer in the religion that puts them down, you are a believer in Christ. I too was pushed away by many Christians who were judgmental and mean spirited, but I realized something. They don't represent what Christianity really is, and I need to find out for myself what Christianity is all about. Set yourself apart, you have a wonderful oppurtunity to demonstrate to your friend, through your actions, that not all Christians are judgemental and mean spirited, that there are those who actually love Christ, and try their hardest to portray that love to others. I will keep you in my prayers. Don't let other people define your relationship with Christ. :)

I agree completly with Jill. Judging others is something we all have a problem with. To be honest, my Wiccan friend I was telling you about? Well I used to be afraid of her. I judged that girl before I even got to know her. As it turned out, I was wrong about her. She became one of my closest friends, and just because she believed in something that I didn't, I refused to let that come between our friendship. I too will pray for you. :)

ok. first of all, i must say that i have studied into wicca before. if you've ever read anything about it, you'll realize that a lot of the stuff they say the put as "just like christians, we do...." a lot of the things they have as creeds sound very very good. they also don't believe in the devil. and pretty much all of them will be very sweet because they believe what you do comes back to you three fold. it is ok to believe what they do is bad, but don't judge them as a person. if you ditch them, what does that say about you? but as a christian, you know who truly comes out better. you do. why? cuz you have Jesus. if you must learn more about wicca to compare it....i recommend reading Living Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practioner. I read it when i was studying it. keep in mind.....i'm not saying believe this book.....just look at the comparisons. that's all. plus, it'll give you some insight to what all they believe. happy reading and non-judging.

believe me, I had the hardest time and still do trying to find the "real" Christians. Just because someone says they are Christian or goes to church every Sunday does not make them a follower of Christ. Look at the parable of the good samaritan.

Also, Jesus said in the end times many will come to him saying they cast out devils and preached in his name, and he said he will turn them away saying "I never knew you". To me this also stands for the many who believe Christianity is more of an exclusive club than a personal relationship. If God is love, then that is going to have to be the main factor in a true Christians life.

continue in your prayers and sincerely desire a personal relationship and like the others said, it's God you worship, not people.

Do someone of you even know what Wicca is? They are natural Healers, studying herbs and plants. Studying the earth and nature. All of what God made. They honor the Earth, creation. They believe that a Higher power made the Earth and is in balance with good and evil There is no Devil, just one higher Power who gave us free will. The creed of Wiccans are "Harm none" They do no harm, spread no rumours and don't judge others. They don't try to convert everyone to thier religion either. Most Wiccans know that Jesus was real and is fine with that. They live very humble lives, simple lives. Close to the creation.

It doesn't matter how good a person is in life, if he or she does not have Christ as his/her Savior and worship the Father, then that person will not make it. That might sound incredibly cruel to some, but God is God, and He will not accept sin in His kingdom. Everybody has sinned, no matter how good you are. I don't believe in judging people, that is God's job and His alone. However, we can compare doctrine to the Bible and judge whether or not beliefs line up with what God wants. Only God can read the heart, but we are responsible for keeping ourselves aligned with Him and not false doctrine.
