Is there, anyone out there, that is of the Israelite religion?

I have questions, that I really wish you can answer.

I really would like evedence as to your belief of certain things such as,

1. Who are the people of the semetic race?

2. Who are the people of the Japhetic race ?

3. Who are the people of the people of the Hamite race?

I have other questions as well. I'm looking foward to an open discussion.

P.s

This discussion is open to other people of the forum.

For those who are afraid of sharing your view of the Hamites,

( African, latino and so on ) My brother and I are minorities, we can take it.

Your responses are Greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Israelites no longer exist. Do you mean people of the Jewish faith?

The term 'Semite' does not refer simply to one people group. It is a family of culture groups. It would be akin to the word 'African'. There are many many diverse cultures in Africa just like there are several different subgroups of Semitic people.

And for the record the idea that the cursed descendants of Ham are the African people was made up to justify racism. The bible tells us that the descendants of Ham were the Canaanites (and NO, this does not apply to the Palestinians of the modern age, the Canaanites no longer exist). It also says that the descendants of Ham are Cush, Put, and Egypt. Cush is often thought of as African, but honestly we don't really know exactly who they were and I don't remember who Put is. The main point though is even if we can figure out who these people were, they no longer exist today and therefore this is NO justification for a hierarchy of race. Even the Egyptians are a different group of people now than they were then.

The concept of "race" no longer computes. More accurate to use "family." My Dad had 2 kids. We have 5 kids and 7 grandkids. Another 1000 years, no telling how big the chart will be. We are a family, not a race.

ok...

Ummm...

What does this have to do with race?

First the israelite is around in rather pure form. Hebrews or Jews are rather pure in race.
The southerners were a fine people and while a little trespassing still of higher moral character then many others.

The Japhetic are the Indo-european peoples with the language leading the way to identifying them.
The Hamatics (sp) are possibly the aSians and Africans. The cush was a common word that means the Blacks below the Egypt and Phut another black people more south.
By the way the Sumerians came from Cush and so the first big civilization was the same folk as Black Africans. The language also showing to be unrelated to any neighbours.
The Semites are many forgotten peoples and the present Arabs/Jews and possibly Asians. not sure about the Asians.

I am not arguing that their descendants are no longer around. It is a matter of semantics. After the exile, the people known as the Israelites are know longer called the Israelites and are instead called Jews.

The southerners were a fine people and while a little trespassing still of higher moral character then many others.

I hope that I did not imply that southerners either were or are evil. But it is a fact that this idea that the sons of Noah were cursed was used to justify the institution of slavery which was evil.

I have to disagree with this literal reading of Genesis, but honestly I am too tired to present my case. Agree to disagree on the basis that our hermeneutical approaches are different?

This one I will comment on. The Arabs and Jews are semitic people. The asians are not (different language and people group)

The Semitic line (aka Akkadians, Canaanites, Phoenicians, Hebrews, Arabs, and Ethiopian Semites) is the only modern recognised race that you mentioned.

The Japhites and Hamites, if they existed at all would have been closely related subgroups of the Semitic line. Since the record of these people is sketchy at best it is doubtful that we could ever trace the line today, they would simply be lumped in with the Semites.

People have tried to tie these people to other known groups, but the genetic evidence is against this idea. The other races all pre-existed the times given for the rise of these subsets of the Semite race. I guess one could claim that God messed with the genetics of these people and thus made it only look like they existed before the dated inferred, but that would indicate a trickster type god and not fit in with Judeo-Christian theology.

So there is my opinion, if these other groups even existed at all, they would be subsets of what is referred to today as the Semitic race and not a race unto themselves.

Thank you

I am, but the questions you asked are not religious questions. The history of the post-flood peoples are given as a historical outline and set the stage for the introduction of the nation (children) of Israel, which of course culminates with the birth of Jesus. These nations were important only as they came in contact with Israel. Eventually most just disappeared from the scene.
