Not My Scene!
Drinking marguaritas, getting stoned
Flying high, laying low;
It’s fine for you if it gives you a thrill
But it’s really not my scene.
All night parties, whip-its till dawn
Couples all over, God knows what they’ve done;
Everything cheap, nothing is real
And it isn’t my idea of a good time.
This doesn’t mean that we can’t be friends
You talk and I’ll speak if I feel I fit in;
All that jazz you put on don’t fool me none
It’s fake, it’s phony and I don’t play these games.
I have one thing you don’t have, my friend
I have the Lord and my faith is in Him;
Redemption is coming, it won’t be long
He will redeem me from the disarray I’m in.
Call me a chicken, call me a wimp
Buzzes and blows, I want no part of this;
I have my savior, my life is with him
That’s the only scene I need to be in.
