"who agrees we need more christian bluegrass?"

No problem with that here in South Dallas. There's plenty of "grass Gospel" to go around.

I'll be doing a gig at a "watch night" get together day after tomorrow with the "Cedar Junction Bluegrass band" (Facebook) down around Venus, TX somewhere. Gonna be Plenty of "Grass", and "Grass gospel", and Barbeque too.

And there's always the "Cowboy Churches" (Baptist) all over our area that do Country Gospel and Bluegrass consistently. I've played in quite a few of 'em in this area.

I have a very deep love for bluegrass. I love to hear the old masters do their thing. Mr. Monroe, The Stanley Brothers, The Osbourne Brothers, The Johnson Mountain Boys among many many others. I host a jam here in the spring and summer. I am currently trying to form a bluegrass gospel group in the Indianapolis area, so if there are any pickers out there willing to crutch a rank beginner let me know!

You might try the Isaacs. They have a mixture of influences come out when they play their music, but you can really hear the bluegrass on much of their music.

Here is a little more about them, from their Website:

"Most bluegrass artist cover old gospel songs"

It's HARD to improve on "What a Friend We Have in Jesus", or "Is Not THIS the Land of Beaulah". We bluegrass musicians play what we love, in the way we LOVE to hear it.

Simple as that.
