  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There are so many fora here, I'm not sure where a person should go to introduce himself. But since I'm in college, this seems appropriate enough.

The first thing I want to say about myself is that I am in fact not Christian. I used to be, but at some point it stopped making sense to me, and I stopped believing.
I would ask that you please not worry too much about this. I don't, after all. I know some may be upset about non-Christians coming in and openly defying the very ideals that the board stands for. But that's not what I'm here to do. To clarify I am NOT here to do the following:
  1. Convert you
  2. Argue over beliefs
  3. Make fun of your beliefs
I am here to do these things:
  1. Discuss and learn about Christianity
  2. Provide an outside point of view that many Christian groups don't include.
  3. Share and have a good time.
There's one other thing that I'd like to get out of the way now. I'm bisexual. I'm sorry if this offends you (more sorry for you than for myself), but it's just the way I am. I am NOT a depraved sicko, and I am NOT confused.

If any of this sounds defensive, that's because it is. I don't want to step on too many toes on the way in, and I just want to be accepted.
