Not a new forum as such, but the ability to filter content for categories.

It would be nice if we could choose to filter categories like politics from showing up in new posts etc. It only serves to divide and I am certainly not the only one to get sucked in to it.

I agree with that, however it would have to be in the software we have and I'm not sure we have it.

I suggested this in the past as well. It is a Xenforo issue. The Ignore function, whether of posters or forums, does not affect the New Posts page or the New Posts sidebar. Either there's a switch somewhere for this, or it would have to be addressed by a new XF release or by a third-part addon.

Due to my unorthodox understanding of the Trinity I can no longer post to Christian forums. However that includes forums on science, history, current events and politics that have nothing whatsoever to do with the Trinity. It is quite frustrating. Why not open the forums up more???

Lets try to get the problem that was raised by the original post rectified first. I agree that it is a very unfortunate situation at present that invites people to get caught up in discussions that they really had not wanted to know anything about. A change would be to the benefit of the moderators, too, if you think about it.
