Are you planning your summer vacation yet ?

I play the piano. But, not as well as I would like to. My father taught me. He's a very good pianist. But, he had a violent temper. So, in protest I gave it up about 30 years ago. And if I ever get the courage and the money to call the people who give lessons in my town, I would really like to take lessons again.

I was playing with my daughter H. last night. She's got a natural musical ability as you know. She plays the violin. But, she's never taken piano lessons. And yet, because she can read music, she's kind of teaching herself.

**edit, oh sorry. I guess we posted at the same time. I haven't started planning a Summer vacation. But, we've never been on a vacation as a family. Because we're always so broke.

How do you like your eggs?

My favorite way to eat eggs? In a cake.
JK. I'm not a real fan of eggs, but I eat them. I like them very well cooked though.... soft yolk gives me the heebie jeebies!




We start talking about summer backpacking trips and hikes as soon as we put our stuff away in the fall..... but no official dates set yet.

Do you like milk?

not straight..it has to be part of something or it is yuck!!


are you allergic to anything?

No. A little bit of trouble with pollens, but no real allergies.
(I'm not a fan of milk either.)

Which do you enjoy more - meats or vegetables?

what is your favourite vegetables ?

eggplant and sweet potato (yam) - it would be hard for me to choose one over the other! I really like all veggies though - except beets.


Do you prefer your veggies raw or cooked?

it depends what they are...I love salads but I also like things like baked potatoes and green things like green beans and sprouts



what veggies don't you like ?

Beets are the only veggies that I don' t like. I didn't like turnips until recently, but I like them well enough now.

what would be your current favourite meal?

eggplant casserole. It's delcious! Kind of like a lasagna, but you layer grilled eggplant rather than lasagna noodles.

hmm would prabably have to be Creamy garlic vegetables. A recipe that I stumbled upon one day that is just soooooo yummy. Don't have it often (isn't that good for the hips) but when I do, I hoe in.

What do you do to relax after an especially hard day?

Relax with a good book.


Does reading make you sleepy?

It depends on what I'm reading, but a really good book will keep me up, not put me out. If I'm reading textbooks or work-stuff I'm more likely to be off to dreamland.

What kinds of things do you read?

A bunch of depressing political science articles for school, other textbooks, Spanish homework, newspapers, and poetry. And if I get time, novels.

Soul Tracker, by Bill Meyers.
I reread it actually. I'd loaned the trilogy to a friend and when he gave it back on Friday he was talking so enthusiastically about it that I had to read it again!

If you were to buy a car today, what color would you want it to be?

Driftwood beige (metallic).
My cousin Jordan just repainted his truck this color and I fell in love with it!
