  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Our church has a big ta-doo. They hand out the church calandar for the new year, and a bunch of give away's. There's singing, an offering, and a sermon. It's a special service that everyone goes to. It's fun. But, it's really long. I get tired and usually slip out before midnight. But, a lot of other people stay and pray in the new year.

Do you belong to a big but still tight knit church family?

Our church is average in size and living in the area I do, where people are transient and busy, the relationships are what you make them. It's a welcoming and active church. You also need to actively join in the opportunities for fellowship and outreach.

Is your church active in the community?

Our church was jokingly called the City of Lancaster Baptist Church because of it's growth rate and place in the community. It's the best, most Christian, most friendly, most involved in the world community, most actively adherant to the Bible, church I've ever seen. I moved from out of state just to be a part if it. It's awesome what God is doing there. A miracle really. Usually huge churches grow to this size over decades and decades and usually aren't so strong on the fundamentals of the Bible. (people pleaser churches have a big draw) But, it's grown from like 10 people to over 7,000 with no sign of stopping in just the last 15 years or so? If there was a church that God blessed, it was my church. :)

I'm sorry to go on and on. I know I'm not usually this exuberent. But, I'm so happy to be a part of God's work. It's exciting!

Do you love going to church?

I'm sure I must be, when I'm telling my kids to clean their rooms, because they act like they don't understand me at that point ;-)

Would you like to go back to college?

LOL! I can think of other times that applies as well!

Not full time. 6 years is enough. But I do keep taking classes. I hope I'll never stop being a student.

Have you had a complete career change at some point?
