  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, one year I bought two medium-sized ones, for decoration.....inside the house (my jack-o-lantern candle was not burning too bright that year, what can I say, I had preschoolers & was exhausted)....so anyway, they sat there for awhile looking very quaint & harvesty...they really did look fine from the outside. Then I went to pick one up to take it out and.........goosh. (This should be on the food fight thread.)

So....I buy one, um, can :D each year and make pumpkin pie. So tidy. The End.

So how did Pistachio almost catch on fire????

I make mine every morning. My littlest daughters most mornings because it's so early when she gets up for the school bus and I don't want to push her to do it every day. My other children always make their beds, every day. It's like brushing their teeth and their hair. It's just part of their daily morning routine.

I know it's not taught to people that a bed should be made anymore. And I don't judge someone harshly when I go to their house and their bed's unmade. That would be rude. But, I was raised to do it, that it is one of the things that defines a person's level of upbringing. So, my bed's always made, unless it's in use.

Has anyone ever mistaken you for someone else?

I've had Boboli crust, out of the package, cold. I function as the disposal in my house. My wife and kids buy things and whenever tsomething is growing old, I eat it. At times I even fish stuff out of the garbage (behind my wife's back of course).

Where would you want to spend eternity?

My Mom's spinach and mushrooms over rice. It makes kind of a grey sauce. I had a really hard time eating it when I was a kid. And at my house, you ate what you were given, or you weren't allowed to leave the table. And you didn't dare complain or whine about it either.

Do you tend to be more rigid and unyeilding or are you more easy going?

Depends on the situation, things like swearing, and disrespect i'm very strict and on (with my children and family, I can't control others) but everything else, like mess and stuff then yeah i'm laid back. I figure why get wired up over a spilt drink or something when it's just as easy to go get a mop and clean it up. My mum used to be really uptight so I guess I aimed to be the complete opposite to her lol.

Do you wish you could control others, especially non Christians, so you could show them the right way?
