  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

This film starring Charlize Theron is about the true life story of a woman working in a mining factory where the men outnumber the women thirty to one. It tells about the precedent setting sexual harrassment lawsuit.

I have had to stand up for a coworker before. Someone who took offense to inapproprate jokes. It was not a pleasant experience. But I would never change what happened. In the end it was actually not bad. I'm glad I did it. I grew from the experience.

Watching this film, it makes me hate all of the people who stand behind the aggressors of sexual harrassment. Men. Women. Children. Even today. Even Christians. Christian men. Christian women. Christian ministers. Bible study leaders. This sounds shocking. You think you would never do that. But think about it. How would you handle someone accusing your friend of something?

What's going on?

I'm sorry. I know there are a lot of good people that would not support it. But I'm still surprised by the number of people who do.

I'd have to rely on my instinct if a friend was being charged with these allegations. The film angered me. The miners were uneducated and immature.I was almost to the point of turning it off but I wanted to see her triumph.
She triumphed??? How so??!! She got drug through the mud. Can't say anything else in case others want to see it.

In a way she did Menuet. It was worth her fight. This has happened to some degree to a friend of mine at work in a big chain department store. It went to court,I had to appear as witness. I at times wondered what would happen to her if she had not said anything. It's a subject that really is serious. I believe my friends but also when things are in front of you,and you know something isnt right;it's easier to stand behind someone.if she had just said so and so tried this or that I may have wanted details..I'd need some type of facts but then look at the film. It's a hard call.
