  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I feel sorry for you, Alex. Those quotes that you posted there-it seems that one of the ideas is that everyone on this Earth isn't meant for anybody to settle down with, and that some people don't get mates because of God's will. I really really REALLY beg to differ...for realz...

I think everyone has a soulmate. And I mean everyone-I say this because of the plethora of knowledge I have acquired from listening to shows like Coast To Coast AM, watching and hearing about Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer and ppl like that and reading material as such.
If a person believes, then they can find their soulmate...

Again, I am sorry you didn't get ur all out of the faith...
Quite frankily, I'd be darned and down in the dumps if I found out noone was meant for me...most likely

I just had to make another thread entirely different from the one I left, cuz I know that that was Alex's thread, and I do hope he does find some sort of reassurance and whatever he wants...
But anywayz, I was just wondering how many of y'all hear of great people like Dyer and Chopra?

Wayne Dyer is this self-help dude who comes on PBS and so is Deepak Chopra...for starters :p
I just think they teach interesting things-concepts that don't bog me down so much or concepts that inspire creativity, love and the works and not judgement from peers who study the same concepts.

As far as I'm concerned, chopra is new age and is not in line with scripture, therefore not of God.

The other site about Dyer, though not exactly Christian does have a few good points.

As far as anything that is new age. I've seen first hand the damage that can do to people to get caught up in that kind of spiritual stuff and this Chopra website sends off major red flags. I did actually read about it and I am somewhat familiar with some of the teachings, so it's not as though I'm just jumping to assumptions.

I'm not judging but I would put out a slight caution to those looking into this to be extremely discerning what you get yourself mixed up with.

Dyer is new age. Be aware of the goats amongst the sheep.

Chopra is very new age. I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole and I've never heard of Dyer.

But since your username is 'the new age riseth' I can see why you like them.

There are forums on this site for alternative religions to discuss christianity if thats why you came on here. This is the singles forum.

Well, whatever forum, I wanted ppl's opinions, I have a hard time trying to love God, if He is similar to the Bible God. I like new age very well, it has helped me, on the flip side, I like helping my cousin with her Christian ministry, The King's Daughters. And I can barely care less about the premise of this forum-I just wanted opinions, basically.

What was the damage? I think it depends on what part of new age it is. Some parts I leave alone, like witchcraft, Paganism, wicca, tarot...

I think Dyer believes in God btw, and Chopra is much more spiritual. But I would rather be more spiritual than religious because religion doesn't do anything much but divide ppl from one another.

Well, I don't really know where you sit with your faith. Only God knows that. But as far as I'm concerned, anything that is not of God, is of the devil. There is no middle ground when it comes to spiritual matters. I am also not "religous" but I do have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, by that I mean a REAL relationship, and as God means more to me than anything else and that relationship means more to me than any other relationship I have or ever will have, I refuse to do anything that knowingly will hinder that. If you aren't aware of the damage this new age stuff can do, I can't really explain it to you. Either the Holy Spirit will come in your heart and convict you or you will learn the hard way. ....(by experience...not reccomended btw)

God bless

p.s. Lots of people say they believe in "God" including Islam and Wiccans. But if it is The one true God who created the universe and gave up his son to die for our sins, or another "god," is questionable. Also, even satan "believes" in God, but that doesnt make him a follower.

I don't plan to say anymore on this subject. I hope you find the answers you are looking for in life. :)

~Just shakes my head~ You have trouble loving God if he's the God of the bible? What God did you think you were loving?
If we are single...it is not God's fault.
If our dreams and fantasies haven't come true it is not God's fault.
If our lives are a total mess...it is not God's fault.
However............there is a huge possibility that if you are in such a state...that it may be that he is trying to teach you something and you are not open to learning because you want something that makes you FEEL good. Some people seem to be under the impression that if God isn't making them FEEL good he does not love them. Do you suppose Jesus FELT good while he was hanging on a cross and dying for us?
Sorry but I just couldn't keep quiet. I love God. No matter what happens in my life...I love God. I have toruble understanding how other christians can have trouble loving God. A God who loves them 24/7/365 whether they know it or not. My life had to hit bottom before I actually understood what God wanted.
Again...I apologize but I am not sorry for loving God. And saying so.

So the God of the bible divides people from one another? (because thats who we're all following) (and we're all from different denominations yet we're all following the same God the same way)
