Considering a few of their Popes made this list, why am I not surprised

You just do not get it do you. The Catholic Church is not the true Church of Christ, Sorry.
It is a known fact of the pagan symbolism and beliefs passed into the church. This is common knowledge. These men for the most part were not even Christians back then.
I do that when playing online x-box/'puter video games with my brother and some friends.I have actually been sitting on this computer on CF since 10:30 this morning. I think I moved to go to bathroom and eat.
I need a life..
That still doesn't answer my question.
The question is: If the gates of Hell will not overcome the church (whatever form it may take), then how do you come to the conclusion that Christianity was polluted with paganism by the Catholic Church without there being some kind of remnant hidden Protestant sect throughout the ages?
Please stop trying to change the topic and answer the question. I'm not interested in what what you think about the validity of the Catholic Church, nor am I currently interested in your "common knowledge." I am singly interested in how, in light of Matthew 16:18, you justify your belief of the Catholic Church introducing paganism into Christianity without believing in some kind of protoprotestant hypothesis. I've even clarified the question this time around.
Tho One Holy and Apostolic Church, the Church Militant, is a creation of the Holy Spirit, not of men, and exists (and has existed) independent of man-made institutions (Roman or otherwise) throughout history. That still doesn't answer my question.

Well, it was polluted. The 'institution' and 'organization' of Christianity in Rome was polluted from the start. Christianity itself was not polluted until "Rome" organized it.
Again, I do not believe the Catholic Church is the true Church. I do not believe Christ built his church in Rome through these corrupt Emperors.
I personally believe as Jesus preached that the "Kingdom of God" is within us...The "Church" of Christ is a SPIRITUAL KINGDOM. It is not an organization created by man. So, no, the gates of hell is not prevailing against his BODY of believers who definitely are inside and outside the Catholic Church. We individually are the temples of God and together we are the "Body".
The "Body" of Christ is not defined by the rules and laws created by man, but by the Spiritual principles created by God.
As Jesus told the Pharisees, "You are not in the Kingdom of God and you try to keep others out". ( With their rules and laws).
It is not the institution itself that is the "Church", sorry, I do subscribe to that. I truly believe it to be the false church described in the Bible.
It would appear the EOC believes Catholicism did so, or else why don't they join up with yer Denomination/Church?That still doesn't answer my question.
My question is: If the gates of Hell will not overcome the church (whatever form it may take), then how do you come to the conclusion that there was Evil deposited into the Catholic Church without there being some kind of remnant hidden Protestant sect throughout the ages?
Edit: More accurately, "how do you come to the conclusion that the Catholic Church put pagan beliefs into Christianity [...]"

I can go to the yellow pages and find all kinds of Churches in it.*snip*
I pose the same questions to you. Why would God let this wrongness spread so far if it was truth from the beginning that the Church is not a visible institution? Where is the historical evidence that the Church is only invisible? Why would it even be invisible?....
Thank you for (sort of) answering the question. So, you just think there was individuals throughout history that somehow kept the truth alive? Why only so few? God is omnipotent. Why would he let evil spread so far?
Sort of? Ok, what else do you want to know?
Of course, there are MANY people who understand this, I am not the only one.
The same reason he allowed evil in the first place and never stopped it. He has a plan to use what is meant for evil for God and he still does.
Some things are a mystery, and God allowing evil to run rampant in MANY FORMS since the day they disobeyed God is still a mystery to a certain extent.
We are not called to understand evil, but to trust God's plan and goodness IN SPITE of it.
I kind of hate they took away the ability to see who is in a thread, why did they do that?
"It's a mystery" = "I don't know."
So the Church, which in your opinion is made up only of individuals, was a teeny tiny bastion of truth made up of a few people each generation throughout history up until the Reformation? What happened to the great commission?
If there is universal salvation as you, ANM, claim [that all will be saved, for that is what universal salvation is: that in the end all will be saved]: what is the point in being Christian? I would see no reason to be one, if I am going to be "saved" anyways. Or if being any other faith is just as good, being Christian, simply does not make logical sense.
I don't really blame them.......To reduce server load.
