God, in His foreknowledge, schooled Satan with Job.I was mostly fascinated at the designation in Job of Satan as "ha'satan", the adversary. It was almost as if to take him out of the red horns and pitchfork and put him into the role of antagonist, not just the embodiment of pure evil.

That sounds nice, but I fear it lacks content. If God is simply defined as "absolute truth" that really doesn't carry much in terms of meaning. If God is "absolute truth" what can I take from that? What does it mean? Does "Absolute Truth" find gay marriage to be OK? Does "Absolute Truth" say there are a certain number of times I should kneel and pray facing Mecca? Does "Absolute Truth" command that I accept ONLY a guy named Jesus Christ who existed in Israel about 2 millenia ago as the ONLY route to salvation? Or is that necessary?
So many questions. To arbitrarily define God as some esoteric "concept" seems to sap Him of any actual meaning.
I use reason, a mind made, mind managed universe seems entirely reasonable to me. We aren't denied the use of reason.Ex Cathedra statement. No supporting evidence other than merely stating it.
So we are denied the ability to use "reason" to understand God. That's pretty handy for those who don't like reason.
And it's exceptionally helpful if there's no real reason to believe God exists.

Yep, it is a good read, overall. What AV seems to have a hard time understanding is that the true villain of Job was not Satan.I know the book of Job is more appropriate to other sub-forums on this page, so I won't belabor it, but Job is a WONDERFUL contemplation on human suffering and the mystery of why it happens squished between two of the most repellent examples of horror-theology I can imagine.
God was "in control" in that He treated Job like a plaything to make a bet with and then excoriated him for mildly asking why he was being treated so horribly.
The parts in between were pure poetry though. I wish the author(s) hadn't felt the need to book end it with such horrific stuff.
