This really is not a good translation. Replenish does mean to fill again---

For one, pitch is produced from a lot of trees, the earliest known variants comming from birch. There is nothing that would necessarily connect pitch with pines, much less with New Jersey Pitch Pines.

Second... vegetation is very much dependent on geology. Why would a "one giant landmass" even sport New Jersey Pitch Pines in this region?

So, even if we were to accept AV's weird geological, climatological, physical and botantical views... Noah could have come from New Jersey. He could also have come from Sweden, or Australia, or Antarctica. Or from Shangri-La.
