  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

or maybe someone lied on their registration. ^_^

either that or you come from an asian family like mine and until you're married and out the door...rules apply even if you're 40.

TV could be bad. but i don't see the point of it not being allowed at all. kinda like saying...let's just close our eyes and pretend it's all's good.

Dear MiracleMaker,
I am not a fan of TV even though we have a cable. I watch Foxnews, Cooking channel, Sunday's TV preachers and yes (do not laugh) korean soap (very wholesome and family oriented). Your mother is right, quantity of bad TV does something to brain, emotions, reaction, etc. There are many scientific studies on the subject. If you watch for the first time a murder scene, you might be appalled, or might close your eyes. If you watch the same scene for the 7th time, you might even be bored. We are to protect our minds and hearts. When my son was growing up, we did not have a cable, just commercial telelvision. I constantly monitored what he was watching, and was very vocal with my opinions about the certain shows. Now, I see that his TV is "parked" on DIY channel. On the other hand, I know a german family with 3 grown children (one is adopted korean girl) who do not own a TV. Their children are very nice. One is physicist, and two are in college. I see them often and talk to their children. The girls dress like everybody else, and went on few mission trips.
