no longterm memory in hell

i had a thought. i believe time goes fast in hell, and one reason why i think that is people dont get longterm memory in hell, heaven too maybe. so a day will go by and you cant remember the next day so you dont even remember when you died,. so eternity feels like one day. seems right, right? 100,000 years later and your still on day 1. thats eternity. do you think this beliefs sucks or nah if true. honestly if i died id want to remember time, grow tired, and black out & die. the thought of being alive for eternity everything must die eventually right?

Hell is the grave and the dead know nothing. so yeah when the dead are resurrected they will not know if they have been in the grave for thousands of years or one minute.

Ecclesiastes 9:5

5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten.

Everything on earth will eventually all be destroyed ... then God will make everything new and perfect for eternity.

Revelation 21:5

5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

I have some problems with this.

First, if there's unlimited time, then it doesn't matter how fast it goes.

Second, it's bad enough to torture people forever, but for them not even to remember why?

in Judgement Christ will tell you why you are going to hell. You will know. we have example of those like Fr. Stephen.

The saints taught that in Hell you will always know exactly why you are there and will remember all the sins that put you there and it will add to your eternal misery. I would imagine in hell one day will seem like 100000000 years because of the intense suffering. But knowing its eternal and there is no way you'll ever get out will make it feel even longer. Pure torture. In heaven you will be elevated by God to see him face to face and you will never get bored because you will know you are with God and He fulfills all desires.

The reason you have problems with this is because a loving God does not torture people.

Hell is the grave and there is no consciousness in hell ... all are in a dormant state until Jesus returns and then the 1st resurrection (the saved) happens. The second resurrection (the unsaved) happens later and then all are destroyed for eternity (not tortured).

Indeed. I have a real problem with any conceptualization of the afterlife that involves indignity against the human person. At least in the traditional Christian perspective, people know why they are in hell.

That's one reason BTW I reject annihilationism. Annihilation is the ultimate indignity- to render a person a nothing. God is bigger than that, he doesn't have to "rub out" his enemies. As François Fénelon said, God is gracious to even those who must endure his judgment. If there is a gate in hell, it is locked from the inside.

"Time" is the degrading of the physical world as it groans with birthing pains before the next earth is born. After this life, time does not exist. We call that "eternal".

There is no gate. People appreciate the ability to torment themselves for their sins. They know they reject God and accept the grief they deserve.
