Same and it's quite similar to other matters like fashion. On my both arms I often wear several natural stone bracelets which I've collected in the last few years, often at church I tend to hide them inside my shirt or even not wearing them at all. Often crystals are associated with New Age stuff like crystal healing and mysticism, I regard them absolutely false and the bracelets just go well with my style. Some of my hobbies might also confuse others, like watching stand-up comedies, horror, heavy metal (both secular and Christian bands) and satire shows (for games I usually play very mild ones like Pokemon). While I'm okay with them, some of my more conservative friends, as well as my family and even myself think it would be quite problematic both for sharing my hobbies and wearing crystals at church. As for the verses you've mentioned, they're very useful in real life and I tend to not mention the 'edgier' side or wear stuff (like band merch, crystals and even clothes commonly associated with New Agers) since it would give wrong messages or even stumble others.
