Carol: True, but often that connection like in WWII didn’t become clear initially but only as time went on and the initial event often falls on the Ninth of Av as both World Wars did. Oh some who were wise might have seen further, before the first glass was broken, but this does not change how many did not know. Further that super-volcano, in the first trumpet will happen in a populated area, Rev.7. The initial event will likely kill millions and the resultant ash will sicken millions more.
And while still struggling, Israel strongest ally will see a half mountain in the Virgin Island tumble into the sea either because of a earth quake or another volcanic eruption, 8. She will have ten hours before that ten mile high (or higher) wave slams into her coastline, unlike her western allies who will have far less warning and lower waves (and Canada and south America will have slightly longer).
Yet think of Katrina, they had warning then, how’d that work out? And they have to rush to shut down nuclear reactors and move out the chemical manufacturing inland and shut down oil rigs, how does one prepare all those at the same time as they are moving millions of people? And they’ll be turning to doing this while still dealing with the other disasters.
In the aftermath of just two trumpets, America will be reeling, most of her military was situation on the coasts and no longer exists, wiped out by acts of G-d, she not alone! England, Ireland, gone! Large parts of the west struggling in the aftermath (Canada and South America), but some nations are not yet touched or little touched. Russia, Germany, and much of the Arab World.
It is into this world, that far different world, the comet will come, not seen because those usually watching have been too busy trying to survive. It will not strike the earth or will likely all die but its tail will scotch somewhere on earth, likely the Pacific as the water source is large enough to encompass 1/3 of all sea creatures and whatever part of the US military that survived those first two trumpets, 9.
Those same three nations and much of China will survive unscathed and among those named, which are pro-Israel? The Arab League? Germany? Russia or China? The sixth trumpet, 9.13 -21, is not Armageddon, though everyone will call it so. Yet its only half way through the Tribulation, 20-21, and after Judah drops the Bomb the anti-Christ shall rise from one of those nations that survived those first five trumpets (the one that was mortally wounded yet healed).
