Make up? There's something called having a life outside of computers too you know?

Deities and Demigods is not part of the core books. And I believe you're forgetting something else. You don't even have to play in the Greyhawk or Forgotten Realms world. Or do you not understand the concept of RPGs?

The words "hell," "murder," etc. also appear in the Bible many times? If that's a justification to not read D&D books, that's a justification to not read the Bible. Do you read the Bible?

You also avoided answering my questions about Chess. Do you think it's ok to play Chess with Jesus?

Let me ask you another thing, do you cast real fireballs when you say "I throw a fireball at that goblin". Really, so you burn up your room? Oh wait, you mean you don't. Good, you're on your way to understanding the difference between fantasy and reality, and why the gods in a game do not mean anything in real life.

Well hey, people spend thousands of dollars and time on their computers too. Including you. Are computers satanic tools of the devil too? Come on, you must have better arguments than that. And it would help that you not take people out of context. What does Gary Gygax mean by soul? Does he really mean your spirit? Unlikely. The burden of proof is on you to show that's what he really meant.

You say the game contains a lot of violence. The news contains a lot of violence. Heck, life ITSELF continues a lot of violence, yet you still live. Why? Hey look, the internet is filled with tons of smut and hate and stuff you don't like. Why are you still online? Once you figure that out, you might figure out why people find it ok to play D&D.

60 suicides attributed to D&D. How many suicides have been attributed to school? Oh right, lots more. Perhaps we should ban education too.

Give me a break.

The Bible speaks against 90% of what D&D is about? Well, what IS D&D about? Hint: this is a trick question.

And again, you avoid answering the questions. Ask your priest if Chess is a Christian game. I'm sure he would tell you no. So are you now saying that your archbishop dictates for you what is, and is not ok?

And to the audience reading the thread: Thank you for enjoying the show. You have just witnessed how trolls avoid answering questions and run away when things turn bad. A good night to you all. :)

And again, you fail to make a distinction between reality and fantasy. Get that straight. When you kill a piece in chess, you do not actually kill someone. Same with with magic, gods, violence in games. :)

Further notes to the audience: We also have a prime example of why linguistics should be a required class for people. It would help them understand that some words have different meanings. Here we have a person who does not understand that when people use the word "soul" in a sentence, they may not necessarily be referring to the Christian soul.

Your just tryen to justify it and its sad
And yet you avoid the question. Why are you justifying the killing, polygamy, and sex changes in Chess?

To the audience: Here, an example of hypocrisy.

Very well then. No chess.

But we do not worship evil gods when we play RPGs either. That is a strawman. The only way you can believe that is if you cannot differentiate between fantasy and reality. Most of us are able to do that. If you can't, then I agree. YOU shouldn't be playing D&D. :)

Interesting, so you must hate movie actors too. I guess no movie actor who plays a role in any non-Christian film can be Christian according to you, since what is acting? ROLE-PLAYING. Shock and horror.

And for someone who claims to be filling his mind with holy stuff, the arrogance of your posts (beginning your posts by laughing at others?) demonstrates that you are filled with the sin of Pride. Come now, what's that quote again. You know, the one with planks and splinter in one's eyes? :)

Yet you use the internet, which is also filled with many evil stuff. But that's ok for you? Sigh, the hypocrisy. And there goes that strawman again (I wonder if you know what that means, and why you shouldn't be using it)

Check your Bible about what it says to the people who are arguing about whether it is wrong to eat certain foods. I think you will find it highly enlightening.

I find that hard to believe. Very amusing that Christianforums.com just happens to be one of the sites you can access. Especially considering that I got some PM from someone here who could not find your alleged references in his books. Are you sure you did not get that from a site somewhere? Ooh, site two of three. :)

I went and looked at the logos resources page all this stuff comes from.

Let me put it this way.

If their criticisms of D&D are fair and accurate representations, then Christianity is in trouble because Psalms 137:9 says "[9] Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones."

For instance, the site claims:

psycho kooks said:
The words demon, devil and hell appear a total of 225 times in eight pages of Deities and Demigods (pages 16-23), and encourages the worship of them as lesser gods (page 105).

What does page 105 say?

D&D book said:
NOTE: The following beings from the MONSTER MANUAL and FIEND FOLIO should be treated as lesser gods, though they very rarely have human worshippers.

Does it say they should be worshipped? No. It says they should be "treated as". What does that mean? It means that they should have the same special powers in-game to make them reasonable threats. Also, that's just a list of monsters. Some of them are good; most are evil. They are among the "gods" followed by the non-human monsters whose sole purpose in the game is to be vanquished by heroes.
