  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well its a new year in the wonderful world of the NFL, and another year to back your favorite team! So, why not have a little fun. Tell us who your favorite team and player(s) are, and why! No rules, on which player. Past or present, alive or dead. You choose!

In my case, I'm a 20 year strong NY Giants fan, and will bleed big blue till my last breath, but my favorite player of all time is Jerry Rice! Greatest receiver to ever play the game! I remember, one of my first games was a 'niners/Giants game, and while I fell in love with Big Blue, Jerry Rice just captivated me. He was almost superhuman!

Ok, now its your turn, what say you?

May God Richly Bless you!

Awesome, but I gotta say, they may have a tough year of it this year! No head coach, players on suspension all because of that bounty program! Ouch!

May God Richly Bless you!

*Big Sigh* This I know. I was always proud of the Saints as being one of the "good guy" teams then this came out. Well it did, they were punished, now we have to live with it. We will see if the can have at least a winning season. *Fingers crossed*

Lol, yeah. It seems like no team in the NFL doesn't have some tarnish on them anymore! I mean, heck, my Giants have that whole Plaxico, "I shot my own dumb self in a night club" Burress incident still looming around...

May God Richly Bless you!

I'm a 40 year Packer fan. My favorite player of all time is the late great Reggie White.

I'm saddened on what has happened to the NFL this year. This great American institution has been destroyed by greed and lack of integrity.

Last night and today was a perfect example.

Absolutely! This game has become a farce, pure and simple, and its really too bad. I don't think anything will change until someone is severely injured due to officiating incompetence...that is a scary thought...

I pray it doesn't come to that! I hate to see anyone get hurt!

The NFL is slow moving to resolve this situation because their ratings are higher than ever. If we as fans start boycotting them, meaning not watching televised games, getting rid of the NFL network, not buying NFL apparel, it will hit them where it mattes most...in their almighty wallets!! That is going to be the only way they will acknowledge the opinions of fans.

I was disgusted with Goodell's decision today. Of course he had to say it was the correct call...think of the trouble he would have created otherwise: 1. replacement refs would feel like he threw them under the bus 2. He would have to admit he made a mistake with these refs 3. He would be forced to settle with the professional refs which would probably cost the NFL more money.

Of course...there is no price tag for integrity. None was shown today by the NFL.

All very good points! I also believe (however much I may disagree with it) that Goodell was afraid of opening that Pandora's box...

Of course he was!! But his failing to over turn the game via the Unfair Rule (something like that), showed where his heart truly is. It's not about the integritity of the game, it's not about fair play...it was all about saving his own skin.

I think others must feel the same way.

Amen! Part of it is also that he isn't in sole command of the NFL but the other 31 owners all get a say as well. I think we need a new commish...dies anyone know if Condi Rice is still available?

How many more games are going to end up like last night? We could have a playoff season filled with teams that don't belong there if the refs continue like this!!!!

Exactly correct, these last games already will have playoff implications

LOL @ Condi Rice!!

I understand that the owners pretty much have the final word.

I saw something today that said if they gave the refs what they wanted, it would only cost the NFL 12,000 per game. That's peanuts compared to the money they'd lose if fans protested.

Can you imagine the look on their faces if people who already had game tickets, didnt buy a single thing at the game?! lol

Sure did!!!

The Seahawks defense was great! I have no complaints...they beat the Pack fair and square the first half. However, McCarthy regrouped, mixed some things up, made the neccessary changes and the Pack controlled the second half.

We are really going to find it difficult to make those playoffs now!!!

What's up with your packers? They're losing to the saints!

While they could be playing better, the Packers are (just like last week) getting the short end of the stick with some really bad calls by the officials.

post-game edit: Well, Packers won by a point, so at least this time the bad calls didn't cost them the game.
