  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Hey Everone!

I am on a journey to answer the questions that I have rolling around in my head. I thought that this would be a good place to get it all out.

I have always wondered about the translations of the bible. As I understand it the aramaic language was the language that Jesus and his disiples would have spoken. It was written down of course, then translated into Hebrew,Greek,Latin, then the KJV,then all of the other versions. Those are allot of translations!

This led me on a quest to find the Bible that was the closest to the original translation.I found the Pes.hitta(I have to put the period in the middle or it says wash your mouth, wash your mouth!)which is the translated Bible from the Aramaic texts.

I am very happy with my Bible as it is bringing clarity to questions that I have had for a very long time. I have found that indeed there were errors in the other translations. This is what was causing me soooo much trouble! The other versions were similar to the KJV but I find that the clarity is worth its weight in gold.

I have always believed in God and Jesus. This has never been an issue for me. I am on a journey to enrich my relationship with God and Jesus. This is why I am here.

I had attended church when I was a teenager and did not have a good experience. I found the members to be hipocritical. I have found this to be the case with many Christians. I would go to church in a heartbeat if I could only find one that was real.

There are so many Christians that say that there church is not like that. Sure enough, its like that! I don't mean to be negative but this has been my experience.

Well thats it in a nut shell. Thanks for listening!

This is very sad. It means that there is practically no chance you will ever go to Church, unless you kind find a very small one with only one member and then when you join, well.....

Do you see the folly in that statement? Of course there are hypocrites in Church. The Churches are full of them. Do you know anyone who needs to go more.

The point is you don't worry about them, you go and YOU be real. What they are does not affect YOUR relationship with Jesus. But your REAL relationship with Jesus just might "affect" them. THAT is your job, to let YOUR light shine before others, not to worry about thier light. OK?

I have always believed in God and Jesus. This has never been an issue for me. I am on a journey to enrich my relationship with God and Jesus. This is why I am here.

You have always believed "in" God and Jesus or "about" God and Jesus? There is a big difference. Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Saviour? Are you a Born Again Christian?

You know we are told in Hebrews 10:25: "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

So it is evident God expects us to go to Church, and because there are hypocrits there does not excuse us.

Ever go to Walmart? Suppose there are any in there? Ever go to a crocery store, or a filling station, or a movie theatre? Think you might find a few there? Yeah, you can count on it. Know what else? Shhhhh! Saw a couple right here in these Forums! Can you believe it?

So throw that excuse in the trash and if you are a Christian, obey God and go to Church. OK?

Welcome alwaysquestioning, I hope you can make this a home as I have.

I'd like to add to what Gerry was saying about believing. John 3:16-18 16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

What does it mean to believe? To believe in Christ involves more than just agreeing that Jesus' words are true. It means to trust in Christ alone for salvation. It is deciding to place your fate in the hands of Jesus, trusting him to be your Lord and His Word to be your command.

Hey Guys,

Thank you for the big welcome. I really appreciate it. To answer your question; yes I have accepted Jesus as my savior! I beleive in him with all of my heart. I always have.

I see your point about their being hipocrites everywhere. good point. I might just start "shopping" around for a church. I think the problem I have run into the most is that their are so many churches that are silently based on works. That is not what the Bible is about.

Thanks again for the warm welcome!
