Hi guys,
I'm new to the Christian Forums, but not new to either Christianity or Internet Forums in general (I operate a couple of my own, not related to religion). I'm presently re-committing myself to God and to the Christian faith. I'm evaluating what denomination I wish to align myself with, based on my deep core beliefs, biblical teachings and where I feel the Lord is leading me....
My background:
I grewup Christian, and the son of an ordained Baptist Minister. I grewup going to church EVERY week, doing the things that I learned in church and in bible study were the right way to live, in general. I prayed every day before going to bed (which I still do).
I strayed somewhat from the church around the age of 18 when I had the freedom to basically do what I wanted. I never went out and did horrible things, but I just put faith on the back burner, and I now know how wrong that was.
My parents divorced, things fell apart and I just never got back into things as I should have. I prayed, but I didn't use the support provided by the fellowship with other christians, which I deeply regret.
That's the bad news. The good news? I'm back! I'm looking to really get back into the study of the bible and worshipping the Lord in good fellowship with other Christians. I've recently attended a United Methodist, a non-denominatinal Christian church (very similar to Baptist in beliefs), and I've attended a Catholic mass with a friend (girl i am dating). I really cannot align myself with the ritualism of the Catholic church, and I'm not too happy about their animosity toward Christian churches who are not part of the Catholic church, while on the other hand, most other Christian faiths are cooperative with all other Christians.
Anyway, that's not my point... My point is I'm back.... I'm turning into a sponge for knowledge of the Word of God and I'm re-devoting myself to Christ. I have not felt this good in years..... Right now, my dilemma is simply finding a church that I want to attend regularly and finding a bible study group to regularly meet with to learn... learn learn learn, I'm here, I'm ready. If you have a moment, pray for me to find the path that God has chosen for me!
Thanks to the admin for running this forum. I've been on numerous forums on the 'net and installed different ones myself on my own websites, and this home brewed forum is the best I've seen, period... Amazing. Great work!

Thank you so much,
Michael, ZeroTX
