This cracked me up a bit while out driving - had to get a photo of it....ever known a school bus to turn on a blind bend on the brow of a hill?

And I just love the outback shelter sheds for kids while waiting for the school bus...this one I took a photo of even has natural air conditioning and a window!

I gotta do it ...I gotta post my photos of the old pioneer's slab hut. It's falling down now - so I'm saving it for posterity....

Also...there's one of the outside Aussie dunny which belonged to the old pioneer's hut. But...sadly.... .... the slabs fell off in the wind ... so they had to put masonite on the dunny .... very sad occurance ... very sad....

Here's a story of a cockatoo which died from 'beak and feather' desease.

Poor thing was in the pet shop, i bought it from him at a discount price beucase it was sick, however, it wasn't long before he had to be euthalised (sp?).

Oh no.....vitamin and mineral deficiency....it always causes this disease. It's caused through gross neglect in the first place by the pet shop. These birds must always have some contact with the earth. They must also have native foods such as the little plant we call 'the plum pudding'. That's so tragic as these birds have a very long life span. I have a galah which is about 25-30 years old. Another one is 10 and she has just started really laying.
It saddens me to see these beautiful birds in this condition. They are never that way in the wild and a pet shop should never have sold the poor little mite.
I'd have cried for a month.
