Oh dear dont get me started on possums

1. When we were having a top story added onto my house the roof obviously had alot of big gaping holes in it...one night a possums decided to crall into the up stairs down the ladder which connected the two stories through the dining room and right into the lounge room, where my dad turned around suddenly to find a possum staring right back at him...I dont know which one of the two was more suprised or frightened....the possum decided to leave a beautiful trail of poo behind in thanks for our hospitality...

2. when my family was on holidays in Tasmania we visited Mt Cradle and stayed in one of the small huts they have in the park...one night after a particularly long bush walk we had to leave our shoes outside to prevent the room from being stunk out...When we woke up in the morning we found that a possum had stolen one of my dads shoes, leaving him with only one shoe...Later on in the day thanks to one of our travelling companions sharp eye we discovered that the possum had taken the shoe on a 200 meter trip before deciding that it wasn't a particularly useful item.

3. In my roof there is a reasonably large hole, big enough for a possum to get through to inside the roof-a perfect spot for a winter hibernation...When we did a few repairs on the house we sealed up the hole, thinking it useless...To our horror we discovered that there was a possum trapped in our roof, where one day we heard a scrapping noise inside our stairs (which are linked to the roof) and so opened the hatch which opens to the inside of the staris to discover a big brush tail protruding from it...We dont really know if it ever got out, but guess it did otherwise there would likely be a rather disguisting smell comming from the roof...

Well these are a few bush tales comming from a person who lives in the city (who says sydney has no natural side?)
