When you hear them outside in the trees Lori, you can sort of get the feel of how many there are. We used to have them come sit on our mailbox and laugh when I was a kid. There aren't many around where I am here, it's mostly galah's and white cockatoos. Galah's are the biggest crackup with some of the antics they get up to, and when the babies want food the noise is atrocious.

We have a little ditty, or chorus, here in OZ that all kids are taught in school, maybe someone could tell us who wrote it, but it goes like this:

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree..

Yep, I learned that song in grade school. Loved that song! I thought it was an animal all along, not a bird!

Wow!! i looke thru all cept for about the last 7 pages & man i luv australia!! I know of a couple other big things but i dont have pictures of them atm... They r both fruit shops on the way to toowoomba from brissy.. One has a big red elephant out the front and the other one is the big orange.

Those 'blind ppl crossing' signs that sumone mentioned b4... they have always annoyed me to.. i always ask ppl wat is the purpose of them... like yeah they warn the drivers to watch out for blind ppl crossing but the blind ppl can't read them & neither can the dogs.. & the blind ppl can't read them in braille either cuz they r way up high. It always annoys me....
