New strong PC! What games should I consider?

I just bought a new PC that is strong enough to run Doom 3 and other games like Half Life 2.

I'm pretty sure I'll get HL2, but what other games should I get?

I'm currently downloading Americas Army, since it's free and a good game.
But are there any fun free games out there?

Get Prince of Persia, that's an astounding game. But what's your favorite genre, that's the most importan question. If it is FPS, then HL2 is good enough. I tried Doom 3, but I wasn't impressed. Oh yes, Far Cry is another great game.

what kind of PC is it Sunstone? Just curious

I've heard many great things about HL2, Doom 3, Farcry, WoW, and UT. I wouldn't know much about free games since the only free ones I play are yahoo games

Its not all that strong, but strong enough.

Pent. 4
128 graphics card
500?? ram
160 harddrive
E machine.
DvD burner
Plus an anti virus program and editing program for videos, all for 910.
I'll probably double up on the ram in the future. But as of right now I can make movies with it, and that is the main thing.

Knights of the Old Republic II and Republic Commando when they come out (Feb I think). Rome: Total War and Warhammer: Dawn of War are some pretty strong RTS's

If you can run Doom 3, Far Cry, or Everquest II, then you can run anything.

Pentium 4 has a *big* range. You need to give a little more info on that.

Oh, and I would recommend Savage: Battle for Newerth.

Maybe you can buy some Tom Clancy's games, Rome: Total War.

I wanted to get WoW, but they were all sold out. I have never played a mmorpg, the only thing close was Phantasy Star online, which sucked.

So I got HL2 because I knew I was going to get it some day. I really didn't want a FPS, because I have played them so much on the xbox.

I didn't know they make different Pentium 4's??? I thought they were all the same.

Well I'm not a big FPS fan unless I can sneak around and attack people. I've always found that with HL2 you can do that. While with Doom, you have to run in there and blow stuff away, something I didn't like. But then there's Far Cry and they allow sneaking around too.

I like third person games and RPG, I always have fun with them. I can't wait for Grand Theft Auto to come to PC, my queue will be open for that.
