Building on a solid Christian denomination quiz of the past, I put together a new "selector" to help those of you searching for a Christian home find the right denomination. Even if you already have a happy place to worship Christ, it's worth checking out just for fun. In the tests I have run so far, it's pretty accurate!

Not bad. :)

It put me equally at Episcopal/Anglican/ELCA/LCMS. I attend TEC & will likely convert, so that's right. I did think some questions were worded oddly & with a few more questions, the pool could be narrowed down further.

Totally agree. The problem is that the program only allows for 24 questions! I probably needed another 5 or 6.

I got EO / RCC both at 100%. I recommend adding some things to help differentiate the two.

You could add:

Celibacy of priests
Something about the Pope
etc

Also, I got Mormonism at 82%.

This makes no sense, you could add:

something about the Sacrament of Confession
something about restorationism
something about the liturgy

Pretty darned good...and I'm frankly surprised because I, too, thought the questions were too few. It had me down for "Anglican Church in North America," and while I belong to a Continuing Anglican church instead, it's a rare quiz of this sort that distinguishes between the Episcopal Church and any other variety of Anglicanism. And I didn't answer the last "for fun" question about what I thought I should be labeled.

P. S. I don't know why that "Mad" smilie is at the top of this page.

It might be helpful to have a check-list for finding the best place, but one must first be sure it is a fully scriptural assembly and not just after the doctrines, ceremonies, and innovations of men. I often refer seekers to what I find as the most scriptural site on the Internet: biblecounsel.net, where one can see something of what God intends for His testimony in the world.

No proselytizing on this forum, please.

All great points! Unfortunately, the number of questions is limited to 24, which is what I posted. If I could have added more, I would have. The reason Mormonism fit is because Mormons are also one of the few groups who have infallible teaching.

I agree...definitely too few, but again, I was limited to the number I had. The best I can do is eliminate one and add another.

Well, in that case, I'd say "Well done." Was there one about interpreting the meaning of the Eucharist? If not, that might be one for consideration, but overall it did seem to cover the bases. The problem with other such quizzes IMO is not the questions asked so much as how the system interprets them. In this case (in my case) it worked well and I didn't expect it. Anglicanism, for being sorta Catholic and sorta Protestant, usually produces an inaccurate reading.

I got

100% Anglican Church in North America

90% Wesleyan/Nazarene

88% Seventh-Day Adventist.

Pretty good test, although anyone who has seen me post knows I am nowhere near Anglican (or, maybe I am?) But, the Seventh-Day Adventist part is pretty spot on: the Sabbath I [try to] keep. Nazarene is also spot on; I think I lean way toward Armenianism, and sanctification.

Now that I study the results a bit more, I really like the test - especially for something not tested by the "elders of surveys" or whomever. For me, each question was more or less hit or miss, with few "no preference." And, I hit over 50% on almost all of the options except Jehovah's Witness (0%). Clearly by my icon I think I am non-denominational, and judging by how I was 50%+ on most all of the denominations, I am thinking I am rightfully denominated.

Most people so far have reported accurate findings from this poll, but your experience seems the opposite and, frankly, it's hard to imagine how ACNA and SDA--or, for that matter, any of these three churches--could be so close together. It would be interesting to know how that happened.

The reason this probably occurred is because Anglican, especially, is more open to various views...so a lot of people probably fit into that category and don't realize it, even if it isn't a perfect fit! Again, it needs more questions, but I am unable to add any additional ones due to system limitations.

Well Wesleyan and Anglican makes sense to be somewhat related (Wesley was an Anglican after all!), but I agree about the SDA...makes no sense.

"Wesleyan" as a general description of John Wesley's ideas, yes. The Wesleyan Church and the Church of the Nazarene, no. They're quite far removed from Anglicanism now.

In the case of the SDA, there was that question about Saturday or Sunday worship which, I would think, would in itself keep these churches further separated, but maybe there was some other trigger we aren't thinking of.
