I tested 100% Roman Catholic
97% Eastern Orthodox
LCMS 71%
Mormon 70%

I find this somewhat accurate, as I mostly agree with the Lutheran church I'm in but am converting to Catholicism. However, I have a problem with the fact that I showed up as much MUCH more Mormon than most Protestant. Something's wrong with the quiz if I'm 70% Mormon and 17% Presbyterian. I'd rather attend a Presbyterian church than a Mormon church, hands down!

I recommend you add a few more fundamental questions. Maybe one about the Virgin birth of Christ? The nature of man got skipped over. Do we have a sinful nature inherited from Adam and Eve? I also recommend you add a question or more that mentions forgiveness... it got skipped over. How about OSAS and whether one is forgiven once or constantly?

Great points! I would if I could, but the quiz is limited to 24 questions.

Also, everyone who has Eastern Orthodox/Catholic tendencies is getting Mormonism toward the top as well. This is because ONLY those three groups believe that one person (the Pope) or one group have infallible teaching authority. It's a problem that needs to be fixed, but doing that requires REMOVING a question...and I can't decide which one to pull out.

But maybe that'd be good idea, since LDS is also quite high in my ranking...

It might be! Still toying with it to see if there are any other problems that need to be rooted out.

Just as an interesting note, 15% of the people who have taken this quiz have received Eastern Orthodox as the top result...the second highest of any total behind only Anglican Church in North America. I find that amazing given how small each denomination is currently in the U.S. I am sure each would be happy to see that! Need a larger sample size though.

1. Eastern Orthodox Church (100%)
2. Roman Catholic Church (100%)
3. Churches of Christ (95%)
4. Mormonism (86%)
ACNA, LCMS, Wesleyan/Nazarene, WELS (79%)

This is interesting to me because I am Orthodox and I was raised and left the Churches of Christ. I feel like they are worlds apart, but this survey pinged me as quite close to both. For the most part, except the Mormon anomaly, a good indicator.

Lol, it would be too much to include all the different denominations from all the different countries so I think the quiz creator just stuck with American denominations. I imagine there are corresponding denominations in NZ

Yes, there are. We're lucky to have about 9 or so denominations in our town of 2,000 people.

Hi Everyone,
I recently made several important changes to the quiz to reflect the suggestions many of you have made here. I think it's a much stronger indicator now. Let me know what you think. Also, please note that the link provided in the original post of this thread has been updated as well.

My results (new selector):

Anglican Church in North America/orthodox Anglicanism (100%)
Episcopal (88%)
Methodist (88%)
Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (87%)
Reformed Churches (80%)
Evangelical Lutheran Church (78%)

Pretty accurate for me, I think. I was raised in the UMC, and am now visiting an Episcopal church, but we're also considering an ELCA congregation. A more conservative/orthodox Anglican church would probably be a better fit for me, but as far as I know, there are none nearby.

There isn't a huge difference between Anglican and Lutheran, Albion.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "huge." There are a half-dozen questions on that test which IMO ought to separate most Lutherans from most Anglicans, but the main thing that startled me was that it correctly tabbed me the first time around but then dropped my own church to fourth place in the retest.

I can't figure why that would be, but it suggests that the revisions made to the questions might not have been for the better. Of course, we'd also need to know what happened with other people who retook the test.

Hey gracie...

I've been thinking about your point here and so I took another look at the test. I found only about two or three questions that would differentiate, for certain, a conservative Lutheran from an orthodox Anglican, and the one that might be the most critical was the one about the historic Episcopate. I found that one slightly ambiguous, so I may not have answered the same both times through. I also did not touch the sliding scale of how much each answer meant to me.

Anyway, I had my own faith (orthodox Anglican) back on top this third time. I do suspect that the quiz is not entirely accurate on that score, though, since the Anglican Church in North America does have women priests, and I am guessing that the answer to that particular question about women priests was supposed to be that there shouldn't be any. Otherwise, I doubt that ACNA would have been placed above the LCMS in the final analysis as it was.
