hmmm...was the question asked because you didn't know, or because you just wanted to point it out?
A little of both.

What started me thinking about it was a post somewhere else and I don't remember where, that talked about how bad Christian radio is. And I have to agree that most Christian radio is pretty bad, you have to be able to listen to a lot of stuff that you don't like to get to the good stuff. Adding to that is the fact that most areas only have one or two different Christian radio stations to begin with, so they have to cater to all genres on their playlists.

I buy most of my music based on what I hear on the radio and I kinda thought most people are the same. Some of you guys do a heck of a lot of work to find new music and while music is very important to me, I simply don't have the time for all that work.

So what I was hoping to do was find out how people find their music. Because if most people's buying decisions are guided by what they hear on the radio, then it's no wonder they don't like Christian music. Most CCM stations are geared to old farts like me, and older who don't like heavy guitars and "screaming." But, I believe, there is some good Christian rock out there as well, so I have done more work looking for it, because I like to have that option available. So, my secondary purpose was to point out that you DO have to work to find good Christian music. And I think we SHOULD. Christian music won't get any better if you don't support the ones that you DO like.

Anyway, the gist is, if you WOULD listen to Christian music if you could find some appealing to you, then you have to look for it. You can't expect it to come out of your radio or get airplay on MTV, you have to be willing to check out venues that you wouldn't otherwise try. You also have to be open to the fact that just because your experience in the past has been that Christian music is bad, doesn't mean that you can NEVER find something that you like. If that was the case, as blackwasp has pointed out before, you would have stopped listening to music altogether in the 80's. You have to perservere.

But I have learned a few interesting things in this thread and I'm glad someone resurrected it.
