Ugh, that must be just where you are! LOL

Here in the states, it's coming out in select cities on Dec 22...and opening everywhere on January 21.

Which means I have to wait another month to see it (provided it comes here) or drive 3 hours to San Antonio to see it! Hmmm what to do...heh I can't wait! LOL

Wow!!! December 10! I can't believe it, you guys have really got it great! I can't wait for it to come out here. We'll be getting it in Tallahassee on the 22 which is pretty close to Christmas but I can't wait! Biggest movie for me since LOTR! I'm going to go to see it at the opening midnight showing! Have any of you guys actually seen Micheal Crawford preform it? I have never seen the real ALW play although I have the soundtrack and listen to it frequently. I think Tallahassee's just to small for such a big production.
Anyway, glad I finally found a Phantom thread.:D I tried to start one with the musicians but nobody seemed that interested. Do any of ya'll play the music? I love Music of the Night and the theme but wow! Those key changes are a killer!

Phantom of the Opera is actually one of the best films ever! superb special effects, great characters, brilliant casting, a wonderful score and an excellent storyline.

The film also stays true to the musical version which is a great thing IMO. This film will bring The Phantom of the Opera to younger generations. Perhaps this will bring an interest of the Musical World to those who havnt experienced it yet.

GO and See it!! as soon as you can! :D

I don't think I will see the movie in protest that Michael Crawford is not the Phantom! He created this Phantom! Besides, the Phantom is not young! Crawford had to go through 2 hours of make up to "look" like him - of course they had to do the scars and stuff too but Michael Crawford deserved to be the Phantom! I just didn't know there was a place I could write that where anybody agreed!

you know.... i think the guy that they have does an equally impressive job as Crawford. He is brilliantly casted, dont not go and see the film because of this. Go see the fiilm and then make an educated opinion. It's not really fair just to write the actor who plays the Phantom off just because he isnt Crawford. That would put quite a few Broadway and West End stars out of a job.

Just my opinion though.
