Hello,

I noticed that when i listen to unchristian music i begin to slip away from the lord when instead i want to get closer to him..Currently I am trying to get baptised with the holy spirit and i plan on getting water baptized. but i keep having doubts about me being saved and stuff like that. also i heard that you have to tell your sins to a pastor and than you pray and than you are saved. I never did that i just asked the lord for forgiveness and to come into my life. Some times i feel i am on the line of being Christan and unchristian (hard to describe). Also i dont really want to talk to the pastor about my previous sins because you have to talk in front of the church and people are judgeful.

Could anyone give me advice on how to be more christian and to get closer with God, Jesus??

I try to read the bible but its just to hard for me, if the bible was a movie i would have watched it everyday its just i am not a big fan of reading..

Also Would anyone be able to give me a list of good Christian artist's that they know (rap, rock, techno) i already know skillet and kutless.

Hi, you dont have to tell a pastor, priest, or anyone your sins to get saved. That is between you and God.

Pray and ask for what God says to pray for brother. Have faith in the Lord and don't Give up no matter what. Put love above all. Love God with all your heart, love your neighbor as your self and love your enemy. Pray that God help you do those things. If you make a mistake of any kind, just ask God to forgive you and Let Grace sustain you. God will change you over time, he is very patient, be patient with Him. Just pray and praise Jesus name when you feel Satan coming against you in any way. And Yes get rid of the music and listen to gospel music, any kind of gospel, if you want to get closer to the lord do these things and God will help you.

You tube has allot of Gospel music in different forms, just search youtube with keywords about God and Gospel and you will find allot of Good music.

While talking to a person about your sins could be a good thing, it's certainly not a requirement for salvation. It's all about loving God, having a relationship with Him, and trying to do what makes Him happy. Just talk to God regularly and try to find some good, Christian friends. I've always been a big reader, so that's not really an issue for me, but if you think it'd hold your interest better, there are always audio recordings of someone reading the Bible.

Welcome to the forums! I just have a quick question if that's ok. What do you mean when you say that you feel that you are slipping away from the lord when you listen to music that isn't necessarily christian. It's just something that I have trouble getting my head around. Is it because you are not listening to things about god that you forget about him? Or is it more metaphorical?

As for christian artists, people keep telling me that Switchfoot is a band that is christian. Honestly I love some of their songs especially Mess of Me.

Acuratal sounds like Hes wondering the right things and seeking the right answers to me, thats sounds like a Christian to me. We go through different stages in our walk with God, we could go years until we go to another stage or level in Christianity. The questions he asks sound like what a real Christian would ask. Christians struggle, the Road to heaven is Rockey and narrow and not always so easy. only a weak Christian who doesn't care to Get closer to God doesn't struggle. We must bear our cross, struggle against our flesh, thats not at all easy sometimes.

But the struggle is worth it because the things God shows us and the Joy and Love he gives us and lets us feel and experience makes it all worth it. Praise the Lord.

First, I would advise you to get close to other Christians that will encourage you to get closer to God. And I’m not just talking about people you’ll meet at Sunday, but also people you could call up during the week when you have questions or just want someone to talk to. Do you have other people in your family that are Christians?

And you know, if you’re having trouble getting closer to God, it’s actually a lot like getting closer to other people—you just need two-way communication.

1. Talking to God (praying)
2. Listening to God (reading the Bible)

Yes, I’m saying that you need to read the Bible. You can’t just say that you’re “not a big fan of reading”. I mean, when your friend sends you a text, do you refuse to read it and just call them up to tell them that you're not a big fan of reading?

The Bible isn't too hard to read. God himself has texts for you everyday--they're called verses! I know reading the Bible can look daunting to get started sometimes, but there are a lot of devotionals out there that can help you get started! Do you know of any bookstores that sell Christian materials? Don’t be afraid to ask around your church’s leaders (such a youth pastor) and they’ll probably be glad to help you. [FONT=&quot]

I don't listen to Music but mostly to the recitations of the Holy Quran.
I feel I want to cry and sometimes I cry if I'm alone or if I want to be with myself.
It has all the answers of my questions and the solutions of my problems.
