• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I know a autistic fellowship thread. Somewhat of a oxymoron.

Yeah, that's funny!

The following words have probably never been uttered: "Yeah, I know what Aspergers Syndrome is, my best friend has AS"

Sorry, when faced with the difficulties of life you either have to laugh or cry -- I choose to laugh!

I did see an aspergers support group video on YouTube, maybe it was just the one guy, but I would have left.

Maybe it's unusual but I guarantee they've been uttered. In my junior high Sunday School class a few years ago we had a pair of kids who had been best friends for years. One had fairly serious AS; the other was NT. Their friendship continued through high school. I don't know about after graduation when they ended up in different parts of the country.

When I was at the home of one of my fellow teachers, one of the kids hanging out with his son had AS. I'm not sure they were best friends though.

No offense taken. Your sentence about the best friend being AS made me laugh.

That's cool. Someone with the proper support and guidance can really do well.
