Fr. Matt, ah yes, I actually failed to even think of that. Hopefully my post was taken in humor.
That's a priest's job sometimes.You’re fine. Father’s being testy.
Oh geez. Ok. It never once dawned on me that anyone in their right mind would believe in Jedis. I’m not making jokes about myrrh-gushing icons. I’d never do that. The “icon” of Obi Wan was fake.
That's a priest's job sometimes.Someone has to keep us in line, right?
I thought it was funny too. Then the convo turned to more serious matters and thinking of it AS an icon was shocking. I almost posted my reaction but decided not to since I didn't want to seem like I was really getting onto anyone.
Then when Fr said Jediism is a thing ... wow. Then again people really get into some of the fantasy/rpg stuff. And I've seen people walking around "being" animals. I guess all kinds of weird out there lol.

Wow.yes, it's a real thing. I have seen it on dogtags, which means it is a recognized religion in the US.
Wow.
Just wow.
Maybe someday out of curiosity I'd like to see just what all they recognize.

From Wackypedia (misspelling intentional):
"In 2007, the Temple of the Jedi Order was registered in Texas. It was granted IRS tax exemption in 2015."
So, any FSM followers in the military, with their official Pastafarian colanders on their heads?
Ive only met one to have itnon hos dogtags and it was "Catholic Jedi", obviously a form of universalism mixing of religions etc. This was at Equal Opportunity certifier class. Yes Fr. Matt Im an EO (Equal Opportunity) rep.
and I am a chaplain, so I have seen all kinds of stuff
Yeah Im aware Fr. I think thats awesome. It would be great to habe more EO chaplains around. Im sure youve seen alot of weord stuff, not to memtion alot of questions Im sure.
I have seen my fair share of weird. I even called a boss of mine an iconoclast, which was fun.
not being testy at all, just giving the reason why I would not say a print of Obi-Wan wouldn't give myrrh.
Not buying it. I think you are just being bitter about the prequels!!
