New Feature:

Top 10 Stats on Homepage

I've just added a Top 10 Stats Information Box on the homepage which shows the latest Foru.ms Announcements, Top Posters, Top Thread Starters, Top Referrers and Top Reputations.

It's late here now so I'll tidy it up later. Let's hope it doesn't slow down the site too much - we'll see.

I plan to add a whole lot more new features to Foru.ms over the next few weeks.

Okay, the site really slowed down, so I've cut down on the stats to latest Announcements, Top Posters and Top Referrers for now.

I would do top posters and top reps.

Top referals is kinda pointless. Since everyone and their brother types "None" for "n/a" Not knowing that there is an acutal account with those names ya know?

Erwin, honestly, forgetting the ridiculousness for a second: is this about you losing your faith? A brother in Christ struggling is far more important than what's going on.

The suggestion to change the name wasn't my idea in the first place, it was first posted here:

And the poll was for me to change the name - so I went looking for a new name from that time.

Erwin moved my thread from the CCC forum to the Announcement forums because HE wanted the answer. So, it was my idea but HE continued and sanctioned it when HE moved the thread.


This explains his decision...

Just came back from my medical conference - it was an all day one. The polls were close - the initial post did suggest I change the forum name, and in fact, I got a PM the day before I changed the forum name asking me to change the domain name to remove the Christian bit.

I bought the domain name after the poll came out for me to change the domain name. Whether I was going to use it for this site or not was still undecided at that time - I had some options at that stage, and only one of them was to use that name for this site.

I don't believe I lied, and I'm sorry you feel that way. There was no intention to mislead - the intention was to radically change the scope of the site to be more inclusive, while retaining a Christian identity.

My guess is this refers to my PM to Erwin sent after he announced a big change for the weekend. But by this time he had already paid 7 grand for a new title.

Erwin,

I have been mostly watching and waiting to see what you decide. And I have pretty much resolved myself to a decision which will not make my participation here more than occasional. So I am asking nothing for me.

I am asking that you consider that Christ's sheep are in great danger here. There is a myriad of unbelief and heresy being posted and there are few around to counter it.

Please do not continue to refer to this as a "Christian" site. There are Christians here to be sure, but there is no moral or biblical standard here and this is a spiritual "R" rated site now. I am talking theology not sexuality.

I beg you not to do something that you will answer to God for doing... ie attracting young Christians and naive Christians to a place thinking they are in a Christian place only to find their faith destroyed and replaced with a substitute that denies Who Christ is and what He has done while still using the label Christian.

Erwin reread "Be a Christian" does that message characterize what is passed of as Christian on the forum now? If so, I sure do not see it.

I have no objection to a site that is a open field for apologetics (a free speech alley)... but LABEL IT AS SUCH!

Brother, I hardly can believe that the convictions I once heard you articulate forcefully are now set aside by polls and WIKIs.

Just hoping to get the stats/homepage thread back on track.

I'd just like to comment that the stats listed are not a big concern to me personally. I can, however, see where they might be considered an honour for those making the cut, and it's nice to see them noted.

I'd prefer that if they remain, they be placed under the 'users online box', but that's just a personal preference.
