I've added an option to disable all Health Bars.

Anyway, I REALLY am going to sleep. Only 4 hours of sleep for me now. Good night all.

  • It may encourage newbies to flood the boards with more morology, thinking the 100% health is a high status indicator.
Sorry to be a newbie "flooding the board with my morology" but I HATE it when people use the word "retarded" to mean something they dislike or seems useless or something other than what the word "retarded" is meant to convey.

As the mother of a special needs child, seeing "retarded" as an insult hurts. It's an insult to all children who actually ARE "retarded" to use their status as an insult rather than as it's actually meant. There are dozens of other word choices available that would not insult an entire community who are mostly incapable of defending themselves from being used as an insult on something that is totally unrelated to their mental capabilities.

"Newbie morology" over.

Hey I think it's a cool feature. But I chose to disable it not only because I don't like loading all that stuff on my dialup connection but also because I feel it's just more clutter. I mean, it is a cool feature and all but it's just not for me personally. Thanks for the new features Erwin! You work so hard on these forums and I definitely appreciate it!

I was offended by that statement also. Thank you for stepping forward.
Insensitivity is ok I guess, as long as it's not moronic.

(People tend to say unusual things when they've been waiting all week to use the word "morology" in a sentence.)

Everyone has a right to their own opinions. My opinion happens to be that you should get over it. You're hemming and hawing over an OPTIONAL feature.

I totally agree. I was very surprised when I saw I had only 9% health. Maybe I should be in the ICU. I don't post very much because I'm busy, not unhealthy. There are posters who have 100% "health" but they don't appear to be emotionally healthy at all. Is there some way we can turn this option off, like the rep feature? Thank you, Erwin.

The question about turning it off has been answered a few times in this thread by Erwin.

For the record: The health rating doesn't really affect your health so no one is in need of ICU etc.

It's like a cartoon...as real as it may seem when you're all wrapped up in it, it's still fantasy. I personally think that the fact that you have 9% would indicate that you're healthier than most of us in real life. Unless, of course you keep letting these insignificant life-events rouse your temper.
