Hi all

Well i think we see the direction. It has now officially been suggested that i be banned. What is my offence? Over a period of a bit over an hour i posted successively the drop in numbers here at the board by copying and pasting the stats on the numbers from the top of the page

A member asking that you be banned is of no account. And I noticed that the number has dropped also. No surprise as most of the conservative Christians had already left except in this small outpost of sanity.

What I find funny is that there is a contest to acknowledge the 200,000th member when so few people are active members in the first place. For instance, even when you see, say, 1200 people online, probably only 400 are members. It's probably more accurate to say that there are 199,500 inactive "members".

Gonna say this here instead of in the Announcement thread, because this area is more supportive

Much of what you say is right. But I'm uncomfortable with your methods. It's almost like you feel this is a war, or something, and while it's important, I think your focus is in the wrong place.

There's really no denying CF has become terribly secular. But being so aggressive and forceful won't change that. You just have to trust that there are many people here who also see what's happening, and also want a return to the site's being Christ-centred, but even those people, you're alienating yourself by making so much of this about you.

A part of the problem is the forum stopped being about God, and became about the people, and possibly about money. So people who want it to be about God... it's up to us to make it that way. And we do that by being there for people, and for quietly and rationally putting our thoughts across.

Jesus felt righteous anger when He saw things that were wrong; many of us feel angry about what we're seeing here, but this isn't a Temple, and we don't have the option of kicking tables over. All we can use here is words, so those words must be prayerful, and they have to glorify God.

It's wonderful that you'd be willing to work with Erwin, but I think you have to accept that won't happen, and it's the insistence that makes it seem like some of this is ego-based. I do know it's genuinely not about that, though.

I'm concerned that you think people who aren't publicly raging like you lack integrity. It's a dangerous thought to have, bro, because very few of us are using the method you are, so you're left thinking you're the only one with integrity, and that's when the devil can start filling someone with pride.

Again, I'm not saying that's what's happening, but he's so insidious like that.

It really is wonderful that you want God at the fore, again, but all I can tell you - promise you - is that many of us do. But Erwin is just a man, whereas God is sovereign. We must appeal to God, not to Erwin.

Bear in mind, newcomers will soon stop being able to find the site, so baby Christians won't be coming here. That's a blessing while the forum is so topsy-turvy.

I hope you don't mind my saying this. I do think your heart is for God, and that's a joy to see
