  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i don't really know, i just became a christian yesterday from this board. i have decided i will try two churches that don't list what type they are and an assembly of god church this weekend. maybe next weekend i will try a lutheran, methodist and a catholic church, i don't know, they all seem the same to me. i looked up every type of church from this board and it looks like they all believe in the same thing.

From my experience, the best way to know God is to study His word with a good study bible that gives you references and cross references so that you know what the bible is saying as a whole, rather than picking and choosing scriptures and guessing what God is saying. Another thing, is that you now have the power of the Holy Spirit to guide you. Ask that spirit for wisdom and guidance then listen, when He speaks, follow. That would be my suggestions for a start on your walk with God. God calls us, His children to make disciples of one another, listen to the elders but never follow what they say over the word of God. OUr pastor when I was younger, always said, "don't take my word for it, go home and study it for yourself" I have found this very sound advice and learned much from him about God and the Christ like walk.

thanks bizzlebin, i have been trying to figure that out today (been in all the different types of churches and figuring out what they believe)
If you have questions, let me know. I am mostly objective, well, sometimes to harsh against unBiblical teaching, but I can help you if you need anything. :)
