• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

My name is Rose, I'm a woman who recently gave myself to Christ.

For a few years before I was born again, I identified as transgender and used a male name and appearance.

When I gave my life to Christ, it gave me the desire to stop pretending, and begin to live again as the woman God made me and appreciate the beautiful blessings that come with that.

I feel like God has put me on the right path now, but it is still a struggle and I find myself doubting if I made the right choice.

I am also struggling with homosexual thoughts, and even though I pray to Him for strength it is still hard to not give in to all the strange and unnatural desires I'm feeling.

I'd love to hear any support or advice, especially if there are any women who have gone through similar things.

Welcome to the family, Rose!

This verse may be encouraging for you!

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." - Philippians 4:8

You must uproot those thoughts and desires, and supplant them with what pleases God.

Rose,
Welcome to CF and welcome to the life of a disciple of Jesus Christ.
In a sense, all sin against the Creator is very unnatural.
You see, homsexual desire is a transgression against the 7th commandment about sexual purity, "You shall not commit adultery." This commandment is couched among nine others and we all are guilty of breaking all ten to some degree or another.
Realizing this can really help us to see that, although we all struggle with different manifestations of sin, we all share the same dire need for Jesus to forgive our sins, and for Him to enable us to live the kind of lives He intends for us.
I encourage you to pour over the Bible in prayer. There is a mystical union between Jesus and His people. I recommend you read Paul's letter to the Colossians and soak up his explanations of our union with Jesus Christ.
