If a hundred votes is all that is required to become a mod, then, we deserve a Mormon mod.

Stop by General Apologetics sometime. If a Christian and a non-Christian are in an argument, and other non-Christians feel the Christian is right on the matter, they'll say so.

But how do you expect a website to be able to know that the "husband" you referring to who goes to church...............

Well, it's good to see you explain some things Erwin.

The point is, your website used to define who a Christian is, and their beliefs. Now, it's anyone can believe what they want to and be saved.

How does anyone know any different when there is no stand by the forum itself?

No... 100 posts to get voting rights.

Who knows how many people will vote? If it's anything like normal elections, then....!

You said that they would go get their hundred friends. So, that is 100 votes.

Again, if Christians on this site are not the majority, then, that is our own fault.

Thank you for your candid responses, Erwin...

I am still too new to have learned the nuances of the multiquote function so forgive me if my responses are a little confusing.

By opening the gate and saying "if you say you are a Christian then you are one" implies that a Mormon is a Christian. Of a Hindu. Or a Muslim. These faiths are anti-Christ. By giving a seal of approval to them as "christian" the spirit of anti-christ is allowed in.

I fully recognize and appreciate the inability of a forum or webmaster to Police a site and determine who is and isn't a christian. As you stated, we cannot judge the heart of a person but we can judge the fruit of their lives. Would I ask a gay person to remove their wedding ring in my home. Absolutely not, but neither would I be limited in what I could say to them or how to say it. You don't know me to know that anything I would say would be said in love and compassion for their lostness. But, if a homosexual were allowed to moderate a forum in which I was sharing the love of Jesus...according to forum rules, with a homosexual and they did not agree with my stance what happens when that moderator steps in? You don't put a fox in charge of the hen house.

Erwin, I have tremendous compassion for what you are trying to do. Beleive me, I have spent many hours praying for you over the last several days. I just feel that by opening the gates in the manner you have, you are actually going to end up limiting what believers can do in the harvest that could potentially come.

I pray you will not take my thoughts as a personal affront to you. They are certainly in no way intended that way. I don't have a desire to be a part of a community that is solely for Christians... I can't work in the harvest field that way. But, neither do I desire to sit back and end up on the other side of prejuidice either. I hope you'll understand what I mean when I say that. Everyone has a bias. Everyone is out to prove they are right... that is a form of pride. I would rather bow out than try to prove my "rightness" and not be a part of something I just can't support!

My prayers and blessings are with you, Erwin. I pray Ephesians 1:16-21 over you regularly!!!!

Why would he? It is a set up. If he answers you, he will have broken his own rule. If he doesn't answer you, then, you bust him for that too.

His best answer is no answer just as Christ gave...

Without the Holy Spirit is TOTAL DEPRAVITY".

Do you understand this degratory view of non-Christians is exactly what leads people like M4P to believe what they believe about us?

Don't you understand its that kind of thinking that puts me on guard when someone tells me they're Christian?

Don't you see that such stupid, and downright wrong views about us lead us to think the very same things about you?

Brother, this may have more to say about your own fear than the presence of "wolves" at CF.

Not if people don't vote.

Not if people have left because they don't believe in what the site stands for.

Not if it's called "Christian" forums, but isn't.

I never said anything about 100 friends

Does this sound like the New Erwin?

Therefore, you are saying that the Mormons, JW, other religious people who are not Christians as well as athiests are eternally lost and there is NOTHING we can do for them that God can use us?

Not at all but you know Jim, it's not all about the Holy Spirit. I hope you haven't taken that wrong to start with.

It's about our part too. We work in co-operation.

If it was all Holy Spirit, why would anyone ever bother witness? Why? Because unless they go, who will hear the message? How beautiful are the feet of those.

If a non-believer went into a church (which this forum isn't) and heard a message from it's pastor and the people there, and then went to get some literature on what that church believed - and that literature said "you are a Christian if you think you are", don't you think that person (who may never come back) will leave confused at least. They could leave thinking they are a Christian as they are. And be lost.

Brother, this may have more to say about your own fear than the presence of "wolves" at CF.

The main thing to understand and remember is that Jesus is MY SHEPHERD that He will supply all my needs (Phil. 4:19) and that He knows everything about my life (Ps. 139:3), cares about me (1 Pet. 5:7), has the power for every difficulty (Ps. 62:11), is perfecting me to be like Christ (Phil. 1:6), and that nothing escapes Him (Ps. 147:5), that will lead me to be stable, not anxious living.

The message to them is repent. Only God can grant repentance. Our role is a clear message.

Jim, I have read hundreds of Erwin's posts in staff forums. I am saying I am seeing a dramatic change. Things that were set in stone are up for WIKI. Compromise all around.

I don't know. The last time I nominated an atheist to be un-banned, my PM was never acknowledged. When I said it publicly, I was given a warning.

Sounds normal.

I was just saying that if the process comes into place, I would bet that it will require a member in good standing to nominate someone who is banned. Then, membership would have to vote.

Sounds like a good idea.

However, like I said, before I would nominate you. I would have to get to know you better, witness to you , and hear your side of the story. (Yes, OF COURSE, I am going to WITNESS to you! Do you think I am just being NICE to you?)

You're welcome to try, honey. You're not the first, and I doupt you'll be the last, so gimme your best.

BTW, I'm a Deist, I picked the wrong damn icon.
