NEW: Attachment Upload Limits

CF has never limited the amount of file attachment uploads and photo uploads members have uploaded to the server. As a result, our image/ file server now holds a LOT of gigabytes of files.

In order to manage this and prevent server disk space shortage, I've decided to implement a 5 Mb limit for each registered account. This is quite generous. You can upload/ attach a total of 5 Mbs of image files.

You can easily delete past attachments in your User CP by managing all your CF file uploads in one place.

Site Supporters get a 100 Mb limit. This is because they are financially supporting the costs of paying for our hardware.

Just letting members know. This is the first time I'm implementing file upload limits... let me know how it goes.

TIP: You can also easily manage your attachments from the Options dropdown menu in the navbar.

How much over were you? I've not used 1 Mb after using CF for a long time myself.

I need to know a reasonable amount to provide as a baseline.

i was at 1.41, i personally think that 2-3mb would be sufficient. as im planning on posting some more pics this week.. and dont want to remove the others i have up.

I increased it so that Registered members get 5 Mb and Site Supporters get 100 Mb. More than enough I think.

I have 94 files at 2 MB. That seems very reasonable to me.

We do need a limit. Believe it or not, we ran CF without a limit all this time!

wow...100mb. that's much better than most of the other image hoster websites out there.

...Oh...I thought the "Mb" was a 100 less than the "MB"? Does Mb=MB? (Sorry---I just thought it would be better to ask to be sure...)

I'm a sight supporter and just cleaned house of my old pics---but I'M AN ABSOLUTE LOVER OF USING COLOR AND PICS HERE!!!!

I'M THANKFUL FOR ALL THE CONTROL WORK YOU HAVE BEEN DOING FOR ALL OF US HERE, ERWIN...it means alot to know our responsibility and our limits in matters of the Spirit here on Christian Forums also.

I have 3.12 MB to store 112 uploaded attachments...should I start crying now? Do I have more tossing to work to do? Or is all OK now?

well without an income thats pretty hard. i wish i could, but no money means no sponsorship.

hehe i just thought there was a difference like kilobyte or kilobit, in which kilobit is smaller.
