• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi everyone. I'm Charlie, 19 from Leeds, UK.
I want to say a bit about myself.
Firstly, I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome several months ago after wondering for so long what was wrong with me and why I couldn't relate to people amongst all other things.
I feel so liberated after having been diagnosed and pretty much everything in my life makes sense.

I'm also semi-new to Christianity.
I was raised CofE in primary school but at the age of 12 I decided to become pagan and I've been pagan ever since.
But I realise I want to be christian. I want to fully accept Jesus into my life.
I sometimes like to go to York Minster because it's so beautiful. I've noticed that whenever I go in there (or indeed any other church) I have this wierd feeling.. like butterflies in my stomach and it really does feel like love. It feels like the love of Christ is present within me and I wish to cherish this.

I've realised I feel more aware of my surroundings if I acknowledge Christ. I actually feel more connected to the world which I think can really help me with my Asperger's.

I've only really been looking into becoming a Christian again for the past few days, and I've learnt a lot already (in true Aspie fashion! haha) but I really do want to learn more about Jesus and acknowledge him in my life and I feel so strongly about it.

I stumbled across this forum in google because I was looking for fellow Aspies who are Christian. I would love to learn more from my fellow brothers and sisters :)

Hi and welcome:)

It is relief to find other people that understand you better isn't it? Sometimes this isn't a very active forum so don't worry if you don't receive posts right away.

You are wanting to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Cool. It is an awesome thing and glad to have you in the family.

I havn't looked alot into the other forums here, but check them out as they are geared toward new believers and their questions. There are many wonderful people here so feel free to pm too.
