  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ive been asked to give a lesson to our youth group at church Ive been thinking about what I could give a lesson over and Im thinking about giving one over A song that has a very intimate meaning part of the lyrics go "thousand times Ive failed still Your mercy remains." What do you guys think? I am still continuing to pray about it, and have been given a few weeks notice to prepare. Feel free to give any input

Well, I see you haven't gotten any responses, yet, but I hope it's not too late to try to help!

All I can say is just recently, I've been asked to put together a Bible Study. YIKES! So what I did was to go to the Internet, look for someone I TRUSTED their teaching, and find something I could use along the lines of the teaching I am after.

In other words, I would look for someone who has material you can start with. I mean, pastors study and learn HOW to study the Bible to bring messages forth for years in college. Why re-invent the wheel? Take something someone else has done, as long as it's in line with what you want to say, and that you BELIEVE in it, as well!

You can also use Strong's Concordance, Halley's, study notes from notable historical Bible scholars. This way, you are using sound teaching, and it won't require mountains of research from you. Granted, you will still need to research (about 6-8 hours for every hour you will teach), but at least you'll have a direction to start from.

Hope this helps!

God Bless,

Michele

With Easter coming, I can give you a lesson that would work with your song. Instead of me giving you everything. You do the work but I will give you the idea.

The last supper, all twelve disciples were there. Jesus says someone would betray him.

And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I? And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me. The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said. (Matthew 26:21-25 KJV)

11 are concerned that they would upset Jesus, but if you notice they refer to him as LORD.

Judas asks if it is him, he refers the Jesus as Master(teacher).

These two differences of reference to Jesus; Lord and Master, is the key to true belief that Jesus was LORD.

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. (1 Corinthians 12:3 KJV)

Judas could not call him Lord, he was lacking the Holy Spirit.

Further proof is when Jesus asks Peter who does he say HE IS.

He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 16:15-17 KJV)

Oh, I love this. Often we put the emphasis on us but this puts the emphasis on Him, His grace and mercy to us.

My husband spoke the other day and there were only three people. I told him - Yahweh must have wanted you to give a lot of personalized attention to them.

I'm sure He'll help you as you seek His guidance.

I agree God must have placed a special message on his heart for those three young people!
