I can't speak from experience because my miscarriage was 'silent' (I didn't bleed at all). It is possible that you are bleeding less because it was earlier in the pregnancy. It is also possible that the miscarriage was incomplete. I guess it's also possible that you are still pregnant, but I don't want to get your hopes up because that's nearly impossible.

Honestly, if I were you I would see the doctor just to make sure that you are healthy again now. It is not worth the risk that some tissue is left in your womb because this will make conception very difficult in the future and can cause infection which can make conception impossible. This is what happened to my mum. I'd request an ultra sound to be certain.

I would say take another test, buy a multi-pack if possible. Then you can keep testing every 2-3 days to see if the positive gets progressively lighter. Or better yet just go and get a quantitive beta blood test from your doctor.

I do think it is possible you are still pregnant, some women still have light "periods" all the way through the pregnancy. I personally spotted the entire 9 months with my first dd. My m/c happened when I thought I had started AF, I didn't know I was pregnant and so I started the pill. I'm not sure now if I would've m/c or not if I had not taken the pill, but my point is that I did have some bleeding but I did not actually m/c until I went off of the pill.

Take some more home tests, or the better thing would be to get a quantitive beta done. This blood test should be covered by your ins, but if not I think mine only cost about $70. Good luck!

So sorry to hear you are going through this! I had 2 m/c - I think were chemical pregnancies because they were so early. With the first one, I didn't have much bleeding - actually, I had what I thought was my period and it lasted about that long. No pain or anything with it either. The second one, it lasted a little longer, but it was lite bleeding the whole time. I agree - I think you should go talk to your doctor. I think you said this is at least your second m/c, maybe they can run some tests and find out if there is anything that they can do to help you in the future. I will say a prayer for you! ((hugs!!))

Have you been to a doctor? If not, you MUST go. If you are negative blood type and your husband is a positive, you will need to get a shot of Rhogram to prevent your body from creating antibodies that will attack future pregnancies. The OB will also check to make see if you are still pregnant (you can bleed and still be pregnant), to see if you have any retained tissue and/or if you have an ectopic pregnancy.

In my case, my m/c from my chemical pregnancy was very short - shorter than a period and my first post-m/c AF was the heaviest of my life (I think my body hung on to the lining in vain hope.) It was such a early miscarriage that it wasn't dangerous physcially, but I still had an u/s and was checked for an ectopic and my blood type.

I know that both my husband and I are A+ blood types, my doc's receptionist just told me to not worry about it.... I have an appointment on Friday about somthing else so I will talk to him about the whole situation, we have been unofficially trying for 20 months now (officially) and have been very unsuccessful until now and have had a progesterone test done that came back saying that I was not ovulating and lo and behold I end up ovulating.....getting pregnant.....ARRRRRGGGGGH I am going to talk to him about supplements as this might be the problem.

hey beccasmommy, your situation sounds similar to mine, I was told I wasn't ovulating, but then I randomly would every few months which they only caught through ultrasound. Clomid treatment helped me get my ovulation regular so i could track it.
Onto your bleeding, it could be breakthrough bleeding, a lot of women get it early in pregnancy. But any bleeding should definately be reported to your doctor, just in case.
My miscarriage was a bit different, it was a 'missed' miscarriage which started about 4 weeks after the baby stopped growing (i had no idea) and started off just very light bleeding which continued over 3 days steadily getting heavier, no pain until the 3rd day of bleeding after m/c had been confirmed.
So it's hard to say what it could be, different people have different bleeding during pregnancy, definately check it out though asap!

I had two miscarriages that were that early and bled lightly like a period on one of them.
With my dd#4 I bled very heavily, even cramped. Went to the ER and was told there was very little way my pregnancy was surviving that.
Well, I demanded an ultrasound and found my Gabriella in there, heart beating strongly so I recommend you go to doc and make sure. They will check your hcg blood levels and do an u/s most likely.
Good luck you sweetie. It's a tough situation to be in no matter what.
