In Esther we learn that people became Jews....so it doesn't even really matter what a person's bloodline is. Anyone born can become a Christian, or even become a Jew if they so desire. :) Anyone that accepts Christ as their Lord and Savior is a Christian, so honorthesabbath is right, even some people in the Old Testament were Christian because they believed the promise of the coming Messiah.

I had a lovely jewish friend when I lived in New York. She told me that being jewish is not the same thing as being Adventist, Baptist, or Presbyterian. She said it's more like being Irish or Italian or German.

She said..."Being Jewish is not what I am, it's WHO I am.

I found that to be very interesting.

It's funny because I was just reading Esther this past Sabbath! I know the exact verse you're talking about Never:

Esther 8:17 - And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king's commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.

Exactly, you didn't have to be born a Jew, you could become one.

I have talked to folks on the internet that have or are becoming "Jewish". One even left the SDA church to become Jewish. I have to be honest and say it boggled my mind, but it does go to show that one CAN become Jewish.
