• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi my name is Jenny and I'm 24 and I have mild autism. I need some help. I been going to a Church nearby me for about a year and have been going to Celebrate Recovery for 18 months. For those who don't know Celebrate Recovery is a Christ centred recovery group for any hurt, habit or hang-up. And I have gotton alot out of it. But I need extra help. See I struggle with dealing with my autism. And nobody else at that Church as far as I know is autistic. I thought of maybe there might be a CR for people like me with autism. I also wish there were such things as autism Churchs. But as far as I know there isn't. I really need extra help with Christianity and understanding the Bible and dealing with my autism. But I dunno where to go for that help. Can anyone on here help me out a bit please?? I also wanna find Christian autistic people to be friends with. Cause sometimes I feel alone and feel like no one understands me. Not there fault there not autistic but I wish they were. Anyone out there on here whos Christian and autistic who wants to be my friend?? If so please let me know. And anyone on here who know of a Celebrate Recovery for Christian people with autism??, an autism Church?? or Christian autism Bible studies?? I'm also tryin to find an online Christian college. I don't do well at all in schools so I like to do online schools they really work for me. Can anyone out there on here please help me out with any of this stuff at all?? Even a tiny bit?? Please??

Welcome to the forums!
Only problem with us autistics is that we usually make rotten evangelicals. :D
That being said, the best way I can recommend to study the bible is in pure linear fashion -- beginning to end, and if you have questions along the way, ask them here. That's what the Christian forum is for. I don't have all the answers, but I'd certainly like to help you with your questions, and maybe even to come up with more questions to answer. Keeps things fun.
Unfortunately, I don't know of any online Christian colleges, but you might start here: Christian Colleges

Hi Lioness,
I had gone to Celebrate Recovery for about 3 years at my church near Chicago. It was a great program and I found a lot of healing through it. I'm not sure of an autistic CR, but its worth looking into.

I am a self-diagnosed autistic, I am in the process of seeing if I have it, finding doctors, etc.

Check around with local churches in your area. Maybe ask someone in your church if they know of any aspies, there is probably someone that can help you.
Good luck to you,
LovedSparrow
