Need some help

[Expectation]

For the past 7 years I've been having some bad experieces which is difficult to explain to someone who hasn't experieced the same type of thing.

At first something happened when I was asleep. As I was asleep something would smother me. Something would put its hands around my neck and squeeze all the air out of me. As this happened I couldn't move my body. I could get something out of my mouth though, but even if I screemed at the top of my voice no one would answer.
At one time this happened 7 times in a row. It is very tiring.
Recently things are getting worst. As soon as I close my eyes to sleep I find imyself mmediatly in some sort of parrallel universe. All I can say is that this place looks exactly like my room, but somehow it seems different, like another dimention. This place is evil. It is like something is trying to take over my body. It doesn't want to let me go.

I don't know what to do anymore. I find it hard to sleep and even the thought of going to sleep now provokes fear in me.

Maybe I'm crazy. If anyone has had similar experiences, I would appreciate your input.

Without knowing the circumstances surrounding your life, or your past, it's difficult to say. These kinds of attacks are often associated with those who had a past involvement with witchcraft in some capacity. If not you, then parental or even grandparental involvement could provide the enemy a legal right.

Another possibility is that you may have an accursed object(s) in your home that is giving the enemy a legal right. I'm just touching on a few things here.

I've had very similar experiences. Mine started a few months ago after I moved into my current apartment. Before then, I had never experienced anything like this before. My thoughts would be spiritual warfare because the attacks come whenever I seek the Lord more closely in my walk, but why only after moving into this apartment? Seems strange to me, since I was growing in my relationship with the Lord even before I moved here, but I have noticed that whenever I make a positive change or decision in my life for the Lord or before or after he uses me, I have one of those attacks. So, I haven't decided whether it is due to previous tenants of this apartment or if it is just spiritual warfare. Maybe we are both going through the same thing!

I just want you to know that you are not alone. I experience the same thing as do many others, I'm sure. Whenever it happens to me, I just fight hard by trying to envision Jesus when I can't talk and then I constantly try to yell out to him and eventually I am able to and the spirit leaves immediately. If you are having an especially bad night, it helps to get out of bed and read scripture out loud until you fall asleep. Or sing praise and worship songs. And you can ALWAYS and should always command the evil presence to leave in the name of Jesus! We have that authority if we belong to Christ! Read Romans 8! it helps!

Life Through the Spirit​

​

1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,£ 2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. 3For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature,£ God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful man to be a sin offering.£ And so he condemned sin in sinful man,£ 4in order that the righteous requirements of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the sinful nature but according to the Spirit.​

5Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6The mind of sinful man£ is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; 7the sinful mind£ is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.​

9You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.​

12Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation—but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. 13For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.£ And by him we cry, “Abba,£ Father.” 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co–heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.​

Future Glory​

18I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. 20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21that£ the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.​

22We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? 25But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.​

26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.​

More Than Conquerors​

28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,£ who£ have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.​

31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? These things started happening when I started to seek deeper and further for God. I'm not involved in witchcraft, nor has ever been. I come from a good middelclass family. So if there is a connection to satanism I'm not aware of it. What I've realized is that when I go through these things, I also go through a very difficult time in my physical life.

Also the physical location of the events doesn't matter. There is no correlation between the location and the events. It just feels asif you're in a virtual reality.

You must realize that this happened to me when I was livinng alone and are now happening even as I lay next to my wife. Maybe it is warfare.

I've run across similar experiences here in the dream forum (fewer lately) and on the spiritual warfare sections.

God gave you authority through being His son, joint heir with Christ, and part of His kingdom, to get rid of these. Be firm, and fight any inclination to be a victim to it. It's a struggle, but like Christ'sdaughter said, it takes a rebuke.

I used to try to pray these types of things away in my head, silently, but learned how effective a vocal command can be. It doesn't have to be loud, but imagine how this thing should not be able to read your mind (pretend to, yes), so it doesn't hear a wish for it to go away. It responds to the authority of Christ in you.

I don't have any doubt you're being spiritually attacked. Like Christdaughter mentioned, sometimes the place you're living in makes a big difference. I live in a highrise and encounter a lot of things that go bump in the night. They just seem to go wandering through. That's what happens often when you share the same roof with so many other families. The other night, I was praying over my 6-year old in her bedroom and saw a huge shadow looming over my left shoulder. My hair stood up, and I rebuked it. I find that praise and worship is very effective when you're trying to bless a place and ward off attacks. In the book, "Visions Beyond the Veil", someone had a vision of an angel being attacked by hoards of demons. The angel was hopelessly outnumbered and began singing praises to God. The demons couldn't touch him, and the angel escaped unharmed.

What may be more specifically helpful is if you ask the Lord for the armour of God to cover you on a daily basis, as spoken of in Ephesians 6:11, and to request angelic protection as you sleep.

Another thing to consider is whether you're being cursed by someone. Sometimes pray to break curses, hexes or vexes that someone may have placed on me just to be sure. If someone doesn't like you, they can put some negative "energies" your way, whether they realize it or not. Sometimes, its directly intentional. Not trying to make you paranoid or anything, but it's a possibility.

Good advice so far. I could almost swear I know what's going on. But suffice to say, yeah, I think the spiritual warfare thing is the answer. So you've never been involved in witchcraft, etc. But you have been extremely active in your spiritual life, right? Waves either way are waves, no? I think sometimes these big spirits sleep for a bit, and I would guess all your current spiritual activity has aroused it out of it's slumber.

I would probably run if I were you. That's no doubt sorry advice to give, but I've don't think I'd be too quick to struggle against something which can so easily manifest itself physically. At the very least, be extremely careful. You don't want this thing to notice you-if it really is a thing and not just a bunch of bad dreams (as we all know it is not.) If you could pick up a good book on spiritual warfare, it would be a sound investment.

Sounds like you're really coming along in your spiritual walk with the Lord, if all this is happening. Keep us posted, please.

Yeah, figured. Most times it isn't.

In my mind, what you're experiencing is likely stemming from your walk with the Lord, with your spirituality. There are all kinds of "religious" monsters out there...I am convinced of that. I think you've had some pretty good advise from the others (and hopefully myself). Keep yourself strong. Keep us updated.

Most definitely is spiritual warfare.....having been through it many many times now,I know how scarey and confusing it can be....though it is scarey,you have to realize what authority you have in Christ....research all u can on spiritual warfare(know your enemy kind of thing)....annoint your room and bed with oil and yourself.....once u have rid yourself of these demons,the joy u feel will be so great! It will open your eyes to so much! Then if it happens again u will be better equipped and less frightened! For me, I went through several different kinds of demonic attacks that I had to learn and fight through for a specific reason--the Lord gave me the gift of discerning of spirits....during my second attack,when the gift came upon me, I saw a quick devils face on top of someones face....it is not like that now,but I immediately can discern...if u have any questions feel free to write me because I do know there isnt a whole lot of info out there but know it is very real and satan is running out of time and he knows it and his attacks are getting more frequent and vile upon people....
