Hey yall, my name is Amanda and I'm new here.....I have recently been diagnosed with OCD; scrupulosity actually. My faith in Jesus is the most important thing in my life and now it feels so distorted.....I was just hoping that yall could pray for me and if you have any words of encouragement I'd really appreciate it. This last week I've felt so numb and far from the Lord, I hate it. I know that God will make something good of this, but right now I'm struggling and I need His help soooo much. I need all the prayers I can get. Thanks yall.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You are not alone.....many of us here have religious OCD/scrupulosity.
I know it is painful and scary, and I am sorry you have this struggle, but God is good!!!
We all can relate in some way, even if the OCD is not religious, mine happens to be amongst other things!!!

I will pray for you and I'm so glad you found this forum. That numbness you speak about - I've had it too. Thankfully our feelings aren't a measurement of God's feelings toward us.
I love that in the midst of your pain and struggles you still acknowledge the goodness and perfect purposes of God in your life. That's some powerful faith you got there my friend!! It's true you know - even though the OCD tries to convince you otherwise.
You aren't alone in your pain and struggles.
Stick around and make some great friends who will really empathize and pray for you.
